This is a longshot, but on another vehicle I have a rotational clicking while turning was caused by the brake dust shield barely touching the rotor. There is always some play in the wheel bearings such that the loading during a turn can trivially move the two into each other. Easy to fix.
The TireRack shaving option discussed in an earlier post was something I did not know. I looked on their website and the cost is $25-35 which seems reasonable.
Can you tell us a little about the circumstances? What were the symptoms? Was other work being done on the car when this was “noted”, or was there previous recent work that would have involved the spark plugs?
Looks well built!
I noticed on their site that a transmission cooler is “integrated” with fittings coming from the lower tank. Not sure what that consists of… separate heat exchange coil or just a tube running through the coolant reservoir. Did you use that or keep the OEM separate coil?
This is the kind of event that sometimes leads to unexpected important discoveries.
If your mileage suddenly jumps to 25 or a driveline clunk disappears please let us know and we’ll all do it. 😀
That is a beautiful specimen!
So cool to see all the little touches we never had state side, like the headlight washers and side markers. I have always been intrigued by the mirror on the left front corner seen so frequently on overseas vehicles. Never saw one in person. It appears on this to...
Back in the 70's there was a famous incident in my neighborhood. A girl's Ford Maverick was totaled sitting in her driveway by a fire that started in the back seat and caught the cloth upholstery on fire.
The cause was determined to be the chrome wheel of the bicycle that was in the back...
The relay could have burnt internal contacts, some other internal source of resistance or not be pulling in all the way and possibly still click. As stated above, if you can test for continuity between the horn side positive leg of the relay and the horn you can rule out the wire.
Is there any...
That is great.
Please keep the forum updated on the longevity of the fix.
Just curious, where were you seeing the residue you mentioned in your first post?
Reasonable to consider that, although if it is operating on auto and coming on every time the car runs in heating season it is possible the bearings are shot.
Not sure what most folks do, but I rarely have rear seat occupants and I do not have my rear controls set to “Auto”, preferring to use...
Following this interesting thread.
When you first installed the 9012s was the light output noticeably better?
I can easily see how the daytime running lights could confuse when you actually lost the lights.
When I magnify the picture of the camera it looks like the lens is covered with white dots like it got scuffed, as well as a scuff on the upper lip of the casing. Maybe debris was there that could wipe off.
Obviously not a concern as the image is apparently fine.
