I used Blue rental car at Keflavik- got a D110 w/ snorkel, etc. for 5 days for ~$850, great service from them. They also have some lifted 150s for rent for similar prices, nothing too extreme but running 33s.
FWIW- called over to see what they had on offer/if they do custom, etc. It sounds like he would need quite a few guys to pony up before he looked at fabbing some up. Doesn't do anything for the GXs, and doesn't seem like he plans to. That said, if enough folks were willing to go in sorta sight...
Thanks for all the info yall- based on yackowski and hoosier's experience, I think that's the best path forward. Now I just need to decide if I want to go with 6112s or save ~$300 and go with 5100s in front- not entirely sure that I can justify the extra expense of the 6112s based on my usage if...
Thanks ya'll- co4wheel, I'd like to stick with the stock wheels (had a bad experience with a set of aftermarket track day wheels for an e36 m3 that have scared me off non-oem) and for what I am looking at doing I don't think id need much bigger. Have you had a chance to compare the ride quality...
Just switched to a GX from a 100, and while I like the smaller size and greater power, I'd like to go a bit bigger on tires and lift. Reading through here, there are a lot of great builds that have given me some perspective on what I want. I don't need to run what DanKunz has, but am aiming more...
Just switched from a 100 that had been destroyed in an accident (guy turned left across traffic without looking and I hit him straight on doing around 50). Looked for another 100, but all were either too far away or came up (including on here) at bad times where I was out of the country for...
talked to a guy at the dealership last week, have some photos that im happy to email out. seems like its not terrible, but neither is it too good. biggest worry point for me was rust on the UCA around both the bushing and along the UCA itself. Beyond that, lots of small stuff looks to be pretty...
Hello from the depths of the 100-series boards. My truck was recently totaled by a careless driver who hit me while texting, and since my annual mileage has dropped to sub-3000 per year, i decided to look for something a bit more interesting. I am interested in an FJ62 with the H55F swap (RBA's...
I finally have to replace my windshield, and after talking to the safe lite people, I'm not sure I want them to do it- I've read about the issues with trim, rivets, etc. and am a bit nervous about pulling the trigger in a replacement-
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good glass shop in...
Hmmmm. thanks everyone- i think i may ask the shop to price out some Firestones ATs as well- per SWUtah's suggestion of using tirerack, they seem to be highly regarded. And i have heard about the lettering, and seen it, which is why i was going to go letters in.
And a bit of a mea culpa on my...
Searched, and found a few people commenting on them in the 80 forum and here, but none too recently. Am considering because of good reviews of rain/snow traction and road handling compared to BFGs. Also considering 265/70r18 as a good compromise between size and gas mileage/braking ability...
believe it may be- just with barn doors and some tacky ass rear light covers. look at the rear bumper, its the same shape as the 100, and you can see one of the d-pillar vents on the left side.
Mines an 04 in that color, ive seen one other. it was a family on I-10 headed west on the five lane section in baton rouge right where two interstates come together. we didnt see each other until we were right next to each other, they took a picture. So i would guess they hadnt seen another either.
Mine does the same thing, and i keep an eye on my fluid level, though for the last six months, the fluid level hasnt moved a freaking millimeter. I was going to replace it, but i am now under the impression that it either isnt leaking, or that my truck magically creates PS fluid.
in short- conventional wisdom is that the 2.5 lift alone doesnt quite do it, and you will need a body lift and adjusted bump stops to avoid rubbing at full lift.
