Hey guys I purchased a Aisan 2bbl carburetor off eBay and immediately rebuilt it. I now seem to be having trouble getting it tuned. It will start up and idle all day long but the second I try to apply even the slightest amount of throttle it immediately dies but if I completely choke the carb...
If the carburetor is adjusted improperly could that explain why the engine dies whenever the slightest amount of throttle is applied.
Could the accelerator pump stroke be the problem ?
Is there a specific order that I need to adjust the adjustment screws in ?
Thanks,
Drew
Wouldn't rotor orientation be determined by the teeth on the gear that spins the rotor. I don't understand how the distributor cap dictates the rotors position.
I rebuilt a Aisan 2bbl carburetor and I believe I need to adjust it properly. I am posting some pictures of the carburetor and all of the adjustment screws. If someone knows the proper name for each screw and what the screws purpose is please let me know. I am having a hard time determining...
Its Alive!!!!!!!
I figured it out. I think there seems to be come confusion on mud about where the rotor needs to be pointing for the engine to run properly. I first tried installing the distributor with the rotor pointing at #4 cylinder. The engine would run but it would only pull 15 inches of...
I pulled my distributor thinking my timing was off a little bit. Well now my timing is way off and the engine wont run for more than a couple seconds. That being said I have a few questions.
1. When verifying that I am at TDC on the compression stroke do I line the pointer up with the BB or...
Look into the primary barrel of the carburetor and see if fuel is squirting out of the accelerator pump nozzle. You don't even need another person just actuate the linkage as you look into the carburetor and you should see a steady spray of fuel.
Also go ahead and try pouring a little bit of...
I tried pulling the distributor out and rotating the distributor counter clockwise 1 cog and it actually wouldn't even start after that. So I figure that I need to rotate it clockwise two cogs and then go from there.
Does that sound right to everyone if not please let me know.
Thanks,
Drew
