    BJ40 Identification help

We get all sorts of mongrels coming out of Africa or Asia and some driven over from Aus, but odd to have a left hooker here that isn't from the US. It may have come from Europe. The style of VIN plate is quite common for jap imports, but the Frame info is really odd, the only references I...

    BJ40 Identification help

The plate looks similar to a lot we see from around the world and not really bothered whether riveted or bolted - having a plate there is a good start :)

    BJ40 Identification help

Hi, I am trying to pin down the identity of a left hand drive BJ40 that we have in the shop. I cannot find any reference to the Unit. 140 or N-7397 on the ID plate in the engine bay and there aren't any other plates on the car. Any pointers? Thanks

12/1992 FZJ80 Exhaust Availability to ship to UK

I suspected that might be the case. We have a few firms offering custom kits for the diesels over here that are in the majority and then we have localised custom build shops, but they want an arm and a leg for making one up.

12/1992 FZJ80 Exhaust Availability to ship to UK

Some muppet thought that the silencers were CATs so have cut from infront of the sensors to behind the silencers, so need the two sections pre-silencers, the silencers and the section behind and from memory I think the main box is leaking as well, hence looking for a complete system.

12/1992 FZJ80 Exhaust Availability to ship to UK

Thanks. We have access to the full Toyota parts system and a number of the key components are no longer available from Toyota or the likes of Partsouq, Amayama, Ebay, etc. This is the system that should be on the car....

    US-spec 80 in the UK

There is a list of standard items that need changing from the side lights, side repeaters, beam direction and rear fog light otherwise the rest is pretty straight forward. We are just dealing with one now if you need specific advice.

12/1992 FZJ80 Exhaust Availability to ship to UK

We have a US spec 12/1992 FZJ80 here in the UK that has the exhaust with the twin manifolds, sensors and initial silencers and are struggling to find a replacement exhaust system. Some muppet has cut the silencers out thinking they were catalytic convertors and the rest of the system isn't in...

Looking for a set of 2H +1mm pistons - any recommendations

I had been told Terrain Tamer could supply, but they no longer had stock. I'll look up those other people otherwise we are going to have to line the cylinders

Looking for a set of 2H +1mm pistons - any recommendations

We are in the process of rebuilding a 2H engine from a bit of a mongrel 40 series that came out of Africa and understood our supplier (largest after market supplier in Aus) could supply +1mm oversized pistons so we had the block bored out to +1mm whilst waiting for the parts to arrive. It now...

Do any of you recognise this trim?

OK, thanks everyone. It wasn't availabe on UK models, but have managed to find it on the US parts list and the clips are still available from Toyota so ordered up. Many thanks.

Do you know who makes them? Can't find a part number anywhere.

Do any of you recognise this trim?

Hi, We are doing some work on a UK spec 1989 HJ60, model HJ60RG-MNW and it appears to have some chrome trim alog the sills and we are trying to find out it's origins. There is no sign of it on the Toyota parts system, so wondering if anyone else has seen one of these before. The other side...

Looking for a US supplier of 40 series parts to regularly ship to the UK

Hi, We are starting to get an increasing number of 40 series through our workshops over here in the UK and are looking for a US based parts supplier who holds plenty of stock and is also used to shipping abroad. We have good links with Aussie suppliers, just trying to find someone similar in...

Igniter Circuit Malfunction on ALL cylinders

I don't seem to be able to delete the original post so if anyone is interested we traced the problem to a dry joint on the earth wire for the igniter circuit at the back of the left hand bank of cylinders. Someone has hacked the earth wire and put a spade connector in to it, but not a very good...

Igniter Circuit Malfunction on ALL cylinders

We have just been sorting out some coolant leaks on a 2001 UZJ100 and now it won't start giving Igniter Circuit Malfunction code for all the cylinders. We had resealed the thermostat housing and also replaced a couple of the pipes at the back of the engine and that was it. We clear the errors...
