The front axle appears to be a 10 bolt. Therefor, a 3/4 ton. I'm certain that Suburbans were never equipped with a Dana 60 front and never marketed as a one ton in 4wd.
But I've been wrong before...
Having said that and in light of the other discrepancies, I do believe this truck is well...
Very well put. I agree that it uses more fuel but does offer a small boost in power. It also is mated to the R150 and if the truck came with 31s it also came with 4.56 gears, both good things in my opinion. It is a little heavier than the 22re though I don't think it can be too much, I loaded a...
I respectfully disagree about the 3VZE. I am a fan. They are very reliable once the head gaskets are taken care of.
I do agree that it is over-priced. I think $4,000 would be a better starting price. Nice truck, though.
Absolutely I am serious. Are you seriously thinking that a bearing that is being used will not show use compared to a bearing that is sitting idle? Of course it will. On a long enough timeline it will show considerable wear. Is that wear appreciable to you? Maybe not. However I put down enough...
The CV joints, brass trunion bushings, spider and side gears and all bearings will see additional wear. The 4Runners were indeed locked at the hub end but used a disconnect on the driver's side shaft to save the diff internals, front driveline and help fuel mileage. If you think you aren't going...
It's the easiest distributor in the world to install. Take it out and realign it real quick and see what happens. The oil pump is crank driven. Here are the directions-

The 3.0, though a great, reliable engine (despite "popular" opinion), has never got good fuel mileage. I have had both the 3.0 and a 3.4 in four wheel drive trucks that I owned at the same time and in my opinion there isn't a night and day difference. The fuel mileage was about the same with the...
Please do update. I would've bought this long ago had it been closer or if I had time to come get it. Maybe if it isn't sold I will just have to make time.
....And low-mileage Tacomas are only found far away. So for arguments sake, how is the interior? Ever smoked in? Rips, tears, cracks, scratches, that sort of stuff? Has the timing belt been done yet? Looks like it has a plastic bed liner, is the bed in good shape? What is that in the front of...
I'll run it by the wife. I'm not holding my breath, though. She let me drive to Jacksonville, FL for a bike last month so I'm not so sure she will be very keen on this deal too. Why are all the good things so far away?
So the heavy Marlin clutch in my 1990 pickup made short work of the clutch hanger bracket. I took it out, welded it and put it back in and its broke again. I see the flaw better this time and I think I know what I need to do to reinforce a new one. So if anybody out there has one that isn't...
