I'm getting some interest, which is good, lot's of views here, too. If you're looking for a really clean, well taken care of 100-series, you should really consider this one. BTW, a new radiator went in this past weekend, and I used Toyota Red Coolant/Distilled Water. Something to consider: I...

For Sale  1998 LX470, CA/No Rust, Never Off-Road, 215K Miles, OME, Slee Diff Drop, Toyo Tires $8,500

A low miles Acura MDX just landed in our laps that we've decided to keep. It's now time for the LX470 to reluctantly go. We are the 2nd owners. We purchased this beautiful truck from the Bay Area original owner in Jan 2001. This truck has never been off-road, never left California, is garaged...

    Alarm Problems

Ok, just wondering how to fix the "plastic sensor" situation. I also have alarm going off when using the key, replaced driver's door actuator. Good for a few years, now it's back. Thinking of tackling the trunk next, but need a bit of clarity of what to do when I actually find the plastic...

    Alarm Malfunction on my 98

Rich, thanks for updating us. I posted in this thread 2.5 years ago, but found no fix yet, and it is the single biggest issue I'm having with this truck. I'm tired of waiting 5 seconds to open my door. How did you determine that it was the driver's door lock actuator? Did you only replace...

ATF Fluid Exchange: Valvoline Dex/Merc or Redline D4

The Plan for my 98 LX470: Drain/refill tranny pan. Then disconnect the upper transmission cooler line to do the fluid exchange routine until fluid starts coming out looking like new. Question: Valvoline Dex/Merc at $3.99/qt or Redline D4 at $8.95/qt? Is Redline that much better...

    Hose Identification Help Needed - 98 LX470

Fixed Finally got in there planning to replace hoses, clamps and the "T" junction pipe. As soon as I got going, the "T" crumbled to bits. It was rotted through. Swapped it out, reclamped, cleaned the area up, repositioned all clamp tangs for easier future access, topped off antifreeze with some...

    Hose Identification Help Needed - 98 LX470

Pman: Thanks for the parts detail. I'm going to replace all 3 hoses and clamps that go into that "T". Seems like an easy enough job. Bamachem: Great Internet vision. I'm standing 2 feet away from that hose in person and it looked like it was missing. It's a different color shade than the...

    Hose Identification Help Needed - 98 LX470

I have a small, oily leak coming from the hose marked in this picture. The hose looks like it's missing a clamp, too. I'll buy a new clamp and install it, but was wondering about the substance that has been leaky out of this hose for an undetermined amount of time. I guess it'd be good to...

98 LX470 AHC to OME Suspension Swap by Mudrak

He used his tools to physically remove the system from the vehicle. I now have a huge gap under the hood on the passenger side near the windshield where a lot of components used to be. He drained the fluid out of the system. I believe some things were left underneath, but capped off. He...

98 LX470 AHC to OME Suspension Swap by Mudrak

Pictures Added Sorry it took so long, but here are some pics. Another great thing about not having the AHC is the vehicle is nice and quiet after stopping at a light, no annoying random height adjustments. Whisper silent, the way it should be. Yeah, I know, gotta get some bigger tires.
