Do the 2016+ models have the same starter, radiator, and water pump concerns as earlier years?
I haven't owned a Land Cruiser for several years--although I've owned several--but I'm seriously looking at a 2016+ in the next 6 months or so.
No idea. No brand is on the parts themselves that I can see. It all looks identical to what's on the Cruiser Corps website:
fj40 center arm rebuild kit
Center arm steering rebuild kit for an FJ40, FJ45, or FJ55, from 1969 to 1984. I believe I bought this from Cruiser Corps, and it would have been about 5 years ago. I never used it before I sold my FJ40, so everything is still new in bags.
$39.00, paypal.
Here are some videos of the Land Cruiser that I made this morning:

Looking at the engine...
I am thinking I will take offers on it until next week, so long as someone doesn't come along with the asking price. I have only had it listed for 4 days and have had a ton of interest.
Anyway, what I am saying is, enjoy your trip! It will probably still be here.
I had someone make a decent offer this morning that I am mulling over. I have others coming to look at it tomorrow. If you are interested, better move quick.
Certainly.
I drove it from Wichita to Lawrence, KS in July of 2011, then from Lawrence to Wichita and back in December of '11. I would also drive it from Lawrence to Topeka (around 30 miles each way) once a week or so.
The only issue is that it maxes out at around 60 - 65mph, so either drive...
Condolences.
Perhaps a verse from OKC's own, the 'Lips:
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
Eh, it's a bit like when your turn signal or wiper blades coincide perfectly with the beat of the song you've got playing on the radio. Doesn't happen often, and many people may have never experienced it, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.
Serendipitous things happen, and they can...
Makes the noise in any forward gear, although I didn't try reverse. Noise is there whether I am going straight or around a corner, but seemed louder on the night in question when I made a slow left hand turn.
I think the noise was the same with or without the clutch pedal engaged. Tires...
Yes. See post #1.
Drained both a few days before the initial post in this thread, and a few days before I heard the clunk again. Everything looked fine. A previous owner had both rebuilt, but it was somewhat recently (within the last 3 or 4 years) and probably only 1-2 thousand miles ago.
I'm thinking I might still have the driveshaft rebuilt. I'm not sure if it's ever been done, and there is a vibration at 45+ mph that could stem from it.
Is it possible for a u-joint to only show really bad symptoms when it's hot?
UPDATE:
I had a chance to work on the Cruiser this morning. I haven't driven it since the night I created this post almost two weeks ago, so I started by driving it for 4 or 5 minutes to see if I could hear the clunk again.
The noise wasn't there. Not too surprising, because, as I said...
