I'm thinking about buying a new truck. My 95 Toyota pickup is just not going to be big enough or have enough power for what I want to do for much longer.
I want to get a first generation Tundra I think. the extra cab with the 6 foot bed is what I've been looking at. But before I get one I'd...
I've never had the MT's but I love my AT's. I have them on my pickup and they are very quiet on the road. I have 20k miles on them and the look like new. They are very respectable in all off road conditions except in deep mud they are terrible. Best tire you can get for packed snow except maybe...
folded top pics
I have driven my Cruiser around every summer with the top folded back. There has been a couple times that I've been glad I had it with me. It sucks to put the top up in the rain but it is better than all your stuff getting wet.
When I fold it up, first I unzip the sides and...
I do not have the rest of the FJ60 that the motor came from. A guy I did some work for swapped a 350 into his Cruiser and said the Toyota motor was going to the scrap yard. Being the Toyota lover I couldn't let that happen. So he gave it to me with all the parts from the carb to the A/C pump...
I have a mostly stock '70 Fj40 that I want to add power steer to. The biggest tires I plan on are 33s. I am thinking of doing the mini truck conversion. It looks the easiest as well as being adequate for my needs. Plus I already have most of the parts as I have an 87 FJ60 motor with everything...
Does anyone have pictures of the BFG KM2 In a 33X10.5 R15 or similar size on a FJ40?
I am trying to decide what my next tires will be and I'm not too sold on the look of the KM2. But BFG is the only manufacturer that makes a 33X10.5 R15 and they are a lot cheaper than the Cooper STT or the...
NorCalBorn, it would be awesome if you could share some of your knowledge on keeping these trucks in tip top shape.
I have a '95 extra cab truck in pretty good condition and I would like to keep it that way.

My 95 SR5 pickup came with a leather tranny shift knob but it has a rubber knob for the transfer case.
I love the leather shift knob but mine is wearing out. Any body have a blue leather shift knob in good condition you would like to part with?
Anybody know where or if I can buy a new one. I've...
Go stock. You wont regret it. I love my stock carb on a '70 F155. Works great for the road and it is the best off road carb you can buy for the stock motor.
Talk to the folks at Spector Off Road.

No trade. Sorry.
I put the lowest geared Toyota 4 speed tranny with the 3 speed transfer case in my Land Cruiser And my pick-up is still lower geared on the trail. And it is stock with a 5 speed and 31x10.50s. Cruiser is close but still not quite as low.
I'm always searching craig's list for...
I am wanting to get some rock sliders for my truck. Does any one know where I can get a pair of sliders like these?
Does someone sell them already made or do I just have to make my own?:wrench:
Thanks for the link. I checked mine on there and it is cool to see that I have the diffs I thought I did.
Stock 4.56s with the SR5 V6. Don't get jealous.
That looks awesome! Wish I had that option on my truck.
If I ever get a locker I think I will try and do something like that.
Hey what locker did you use?
I'm sure you have said before but I didn't see it.
Hilux, I am beginning to agree with you on the uselessness of both of these books. I'm considering returning the Haynes despair manual as it has not been anywhere near as much help as this forum or the factory one available here on Mud.
Well I got the majority of the tune-up done. I did a new cap and rotor not too hard. Changed the spark plugs - what a pain! But it definitely needed to be done. New plug wires and greased the drivelines. I also changed the oil and filter while I was at it. I didn't change the pcv valve yet. I am...
I have decided to change my own oil in my truck now that I have more time and save the money.
So I went and bought a Haynes repair manual and I can't even find how much oil to put in my truck.
I know this information would be in my owner's manual but I can't seem to find it. I don't ever recall...
