Yakima Lock n Load Roof Rack

Yeah man.... I've been harping my bros on that hard.... That is a sweet system. Honestly just getting that along with the GX/Prado fit would go a long way to stitching this up - especially since the fits are already tested and established for the rest of the stable. Adding the 100 series to that...

Yakima Lock n Load Roof Rack

Totally. I am waiting for info myself and shot a note to my buddy in fit testing at Yakima on Friday to see if there was an update. Any of you guys in the Portland, OR area by the way? Push comes to shove they may want to get a test vehicle to do a fit on and I could suggest one of you if you...

That's stellar info! Thank you for that and for the chart. I've got to think that would come in super handy and I just passed it along now. You rock!

Totes amigo and sorry to pull in the other vehicles there. I'm waiting to hear back on that fit specifically. "Theoretically" or "allegedly" (for my fellow Letterkenny fans) the Landing Pad 29 would be able to do that. The factory rack on the 100-series is a four point mount and the 29 is...

Yakima Lock n Load Roof Rack

Hey gang, I wanted to come back with some pics of the new Yakima / Toyota specific install for their Lock N Load platforms. This is from a tester I know who was part of their GX group. The pics give a good representation of the install and also have been tested and approved by the teams at both...

Honestly, I like silicone. The "grommet" concept allows for a specified manufacturers part list, which is fine, but even when I used the grommets (only one install I've done this method tbh/btw), I still used a generous helping of silicone/rtv as a backup. One serious headliner leak on a rainy...

You honestly can't go wrong with either. Rhino makes a great product and they have a nice attachment system to the vehicle with their Backbone mount in the ditch rail. It requires some drilling I believe but it is worth it and honestly you get a stronger attachment and if done properly it's a...

Sorry if I am double answering, I missed a few posts... a kit is coming from Yakima to market next month I'm told for your vehicle. I have a friend doing a fitment consumer test now and he was very happy with it. Now.... what I REALLY want to see is Yakima bring over their full length ditch rail...

Yakima Lock n Load Roof Rack

Yeah man - looks good. You should see a lot of cross-compatibility with t-slot assuming you have the right standard. "It's all ball bearings these days" as Fletch once said. Kidding aside, I have even found some really cool accessories that fit right up to my t-slots across manufacturers in the...

Yakima Lock n Load Roof Rack

Yakima is testing it right now with Toyota. I have a friend in Dallas who is taking part in the test on his personal GX460. Rhino has a great solution that has been tested - the big issue is leaking into the cab through the headliner - so it is critical that you seal the holes properly when...

Sorry _ forgot to turn on updates via email on this thread and just came back to it to see a bunch of replies... "fixed point" means a drilled install or installing to a threaded mount point pre-existing in the roof of the vehicle. For the former, attachment method matters a lot (plus nut vs...

For Sale ATX - GX470 "Unicorn kit" - Convert your Nav to Non-Nav (complete) - $500 shipped lower 48

Yeah - it's all about personal preferences on mods.... phone integration is definitely the best. Some of the older GX's with Nav don't have that and can't play music except jacked in or via cd... that was mine... it was sad...

For Sale ATX - GX470 "Unicorn kit" - Convert your Nav to Non-Nav (complete) - $500 shipped lower 48

So you can update the head unit. The nav head units can't be switched out so easily. I've never seen anyone do it except with a kit like this. If you have a non-nav it's just a standard stereo install..... Toyota is weird sometimes.... but just sometimes....

For Sale  ATX - GX470 "Unicorn kit" - Convert your Nav to Non-Nav (complete) - $500 shipped lower 48

I sold my GX470 before I could complete the swap out of the head unit and the person who bought it wanted to keep factory Nav. Don't ask. Anyway - their poor decision making paradigm is your gain. This is a combined packaged deal and should be everything you need to switch your existing Nav...

Yakima Lock n Load Roof Rack

Yeah.... it is something that I asked Yakima about at a trade show and was told they are working on creating a new kit that they will be releasing sometime this Spring, probably in April or May, specifically that calls out 80's, 100's, 200's, etc etc.... It will work with several vehicles and...

Yakima Lock n Load Roof Rack

Ha, probably more like "major brand cowboy" - I tried to distribute the love to all the big lines that I know are in the business of testing and also tried to give due props to the undoubted quality of prisnu and baja etc - people like to get snobby about brands but I find that they often are...
