How To: Replace your own steering rack

The rig has always been maintained by the dealership here, so I thought that the rack would have been OEM, but when I pulled it out and inspected it, it was a rebuild. There were witness marks on all the nuts and chisel marks on the big nuts. Sad state of affairs that a dealership would resort...

From lifting the engine trick to centering the rack etc. Mine , being a HDJ100 with the IHD-T fe is a little different, in that there is more room to move things around. No oil filter housing, different fan shroud...

2004 LC -- Cabin Air Filter?

I just did my retofit last month. A word of caution. When you cut into the air box on the outer side(right hand side) cut a bit on the inside of the existing line or you will cut through the tabs on the outside of the box. I used a dremil tool to start with, then a hacksaw blade to finish. All...

    1HDFT Fuel Filter Question

That should be fine, but a word of caution, look at the top of the old filter, is it recessed or flat the newer housing is made different than the old ones and uses a recessed top filter. If you use an old style filter you will starve the engine of fuel as there is not enough room at the top...

    Fan clutch color.

I have a 2006 HDJ-100 with a 4.2 IHDT-fte that does not have an A/C elect. fan due to the intercooler position. My A/C is lethargic at best , as I live in the tropics this is quite annoying. The A/C system is all redone and fully charged. My fan clutch, seems to be ok, It only spins about a half...
