*New* ECU from eBay arrived today. Popped the lid to look for smoke…all good. Put it in the truck and buttoned up all the connectors I’d undone troubleshooting.
CEL came on with key. Cranked and 🔥!
Idling now for 30mins to get everything moving again. Thanks!!
The radio is the only thing that seems to have an issue when you hit the gas? Normally I'd say your alternator is failing, but you should see other issues with voltage drop too. Otherwise most likely a loose connection in your wiring?
Oh yeah. Cratered the board where it burned too so replacing the cap isn't an option lol.
There are some used M/T ECU's on eBay, is it worth getting one or is there a decent chance there's something else wrong that may smoke a second? My other option is to scrounge the $ together and get a...
Unplugged all sensors. No changed. Pulled the center plug off the ECU which disconnects any I may have missed and checked voltage on VC pin… 0.1vdc.
Pulled the lid off the ECU….
Ok at VC and VCC I have about 0.1Vdc
At the ECU I have 12Vdc on the BATT pin (harness side) with ignition off (constant). I have 12Vdc on the B1 and B2 with the ignition switch on. E01 and E02 show good continuity to the mounting bolt for the ECU as well as to the neg terminal on the battery...

It ran well when I bought it after sitting for a...
Pulled the upper left inspection cover on my '03 Tundra to peek at the timing belt. Going to order the full kit plus a few extras that need to be done and schedule a vacation day next month. Looks pretty good to me?? I'm doing it either way but this is my first time doing a timing belt on the...
Johnny! Finally hacked back into my account . Gonna catch up on Moonshine since it's been hard to tell what I missed from instagram. Get well soon dude!

Man, Portsmouth is awesome! We were talking about going down again this summer as we used to go yearly for a while before my parents died. We always stayed in the octagonal cabins.
Seashells, fishing, beach driving...what more do you need for a vacation, right?
