I swapped the Holley marine carb the PO put on for the original rebuilt carb. I started with the idle mixture screw 1.5 turns out. I'm at 6.5 turns and
and that seems pretty far out. Is is this normal? I haven't touched the high idle yet and don't think I need to until I have a low idle...
I picked up two 71's and I'm letting this one go. I plan to mod the other one and this one is too complete for me to hack on. It sat for 20+ years and survived the Paradise fire.
Body and chassis numbers match. I'll have to verify F155 number. Registered non-op in CA. Motor is not seized...
I was looking for a 75 or earlier and had the opportunity to buy two mostly complete 71's with PTO winches. Both survived the Paradise Fire.
Neither have been upgraded to power steering, and the white one still has the column shift and an original Toyota PTO. Seats are original but down...
Mods - Remaining prices and pics to come. Carcass is headed to recycler and wanted to post quickly in case someone needed an odd body/frame doo-dad.
Clean blue 94, no rust, ran well when parked ~154k miles, paint code 183, blue/gray interior
Engine/Tranny in Berkeley, other parts in San Rafael...
The LSPV on my '91 is really rusty and the pin (piston?) is stuck fully depressed. The rear axle was replaced with a 94 FF. There are no rebuild kits for these and Toyota lists different part numbers for the Drum and the Disc LSPVs. They're priced the same. Does it matter which one I use...
For OEM it's 51 ft lb but the radflo bushings are softer and completely squashed before reaching spec. Of course it's 30 min after the vendor and radflo closed for the weekend.
Any thoughts?
I'm putting a rear e-locker axle (~170k miles) under my 91 and broke a couple of bolts pulling from the donor so I decided to remove, clean, and replace all the bolts in addition to the PM.
Planned PM
Rebuild calipers
Replace discs and parking brake shoes
Repack/Replace wheel bearings...
I broke the lower rear shock bolt and ran out of the house without the remnant. Anyone recall the size and pitch? I'd like to pick up an extractor and thread chaser on the way home.

It's not often, unless you're in the business, that you have 3 loose springs for comparison.
The picture doesn't do the Slee justice. The wire diameter is much larger than the OME 850.

Almost 300 lbs, shipping will be expensive.
$250 OBO - 80 series custom front bumper, winch not included.
Looks like the diamond plate on top may have been coated with a bed liner at some point. Could use a good wire wheel/sand blasting and fresh paint. Not sure what other winches would fit.
[NCAL] SOLD 5 TRD 16" Alloy wheels $600

The front hub bore is ok for an 80 with a 1"...
My new project has an OME lift that seems higher than 75mm or 3". The previous owner is unavailable so how do I determine what lift I have? I have a Slee 4" kit for another project but if the OME is 2.5" or 3" then the Slee will be too tall for my needs.
Project Stinky
The only thing different about this build thread is the base vehicle, a 91 FJ80 with a 1HD-T conversion registered in California. I had given up on putting a diesel in my 94 FZJ-80 when I came across this built cruiser. The PO did all the hard work especially the...
