How do I disable my Toyota security alarm (annoying)

How would I go about doing this with a '97? I have a functioning remote (if that makes any difference). Someone accessed my LC a couple weeks ago (took a $250 knife and an Ipod). Apparently when I clicked the sketchy FOB it didn't actually lock (nothing was damaged...just a few items...

    For Sale 1997 FZJ-80 /Land Cruiser/ (Fredericksburg, VA) $8,800 o.b.o. NOT LOCKED

Yeah...I'm sure that's what I'll wind up doing at this point. Apparently the person I was looking at buying this Volvo from was either mistaken or less than honest about the service history. They have two V70's...one white and one blue. The white one has everything done. The blue one (the...

    For Sale 1997 FZJ-80 /Land Cruiser/ (Fredericksburg, VA) $8,800 o.b.o. NOT LOCKED

Replied. I found a cheap DD today (a Volvo V70). If the inspection goes well on that tomorrow, I'll just keep the LC as a weekend toy. I'll update the thread one way or another tomorrow evening.

    For Sale 1997 FZJ-80 /Land Cruiser/ (Fredericksburg, VA) $8,800 o.b.o. NOT LOCKED

Can I get some input on my price? I ran everything with "Good" condition and "Excellent" (just to be realistic/fair). I'm basing my final price on "Good" condition. Let's be honest...KBB is always high...Edmunds is always low. NADA: Clean retail (dealer raping price) $9,575. Clean...

Good luck. I can't blame you for not wanting to move to Northern Virginia. The cost of living sucks.

do I need to add a spacer to my 850/med lift?

Did adding the spacer impact your ride quality or tracking at all? I'd like to level my 850/860 out, but it rides so good at the moment that I don't want to risk messing with it (maybe there would be no difference in the ride...I don't know).

OME 850/861 before and after pics

Just an update on this (in case anyone uses threads like this to gauge the likely impact on fuel economy of lifting). Apparently my math was faulty. I'm looking at ~11 MPG at the moment (so there was a drop). I'm still thrilled with the ride quality though. It tracks on the highway so well...

Secret of going from 12 MPG to 16 MPG

Yup. If I didn't have a ~12 mile commute (I get a week out of a tank of gas), I'd have already done the Volvo/Honda/Acura/anythingbutaLandCruiser DD mod.

Secret of going from 12 MPG to 16 MPG

I average 14-15. That's as good as it's going to get with a bumper, lift, skid plate, etc. Yup. It will take some getting used to whenever I get around to getting a car to commute with.

    craigslist 86 FJ60 -super clean - Oregon

What might actually happen if cruisers were listed for a reasonable amount of money (i.e. a 60 series should be less money than an 80...unless it's VERY clean)? Well...for starters, I'd own a 60 AND an 80. What's keeping me from getting a 60? Two years ago, I spent $7,800 for my '97 with...

    Insurance Questions After an Accident

If insurance companies had to pay for OEM parts to repair every vehicle they had repaired, what impact do you think that would have on everyones insurance rates?

    Insurance Questions After an Accident

That's exactly what's wrong with this country. USAA is Based in SA. ;) Edit: USAA is good to deal with. Depending on TX law, they might be willing to work with you on diminished value for your vehicle. :2cents:
