cahil's got the right idea. Home Depot will even cut the pipe to the
exact length you want. yes, buy the pipe caps and some good strong
black plastic tape, take the time to wrap the bars. SOOO much
cheaper than the Yakima pipe. I've also run Yak racks on four
different rigs for over ten...
Pusher fan
Hey guys...I PM'd a user who'd done this mod on his rig.
He mounted a 10" PUSHER fan in front on the AC condensor
and powered it through a relay to the AC switch. His note
stated that it REALLY did the trick at low speeds or idle.
These beasts get hot. I have yet to do this mod...
Do a search on the 60/62 Forum for Dakar springs.
Decent stuff for a decent price.
lifts are useful, but check out some armor next.
cheers and good luck...

Thanks Tinker...actually my thought was to cut a spot
to expose the cross member and mount them THROUGH
the bumper...funny, the add says they mount directly
to the rear cross member of "any landcruiser"
who knows??....thanks again.

My suspicions are that the radiator is clogged...since it's been sitting,
that's likely...and or the fan clutch is toast and you are not getting
enough air over the system. Two possible scenarios. I've been
through three fan clutches in two years!
With mine, I did a complete cooling...
Steve,
Could use a bit more info but here are some wild hairs...
is your carb cooling fan working? Does it crank and just
not turn over or is it a 'turn the key and get nothing' situation?
I'm no mechanical expert...I don't even play one on television :o
but I've had my share of...
call me clueless...I have a pair of shackle brackets from 4+Plus
they were given to me by a very thoughtful friend. Any ideas
where I might mount them? Before anyone suggests my
forehead ;p I've taken a look at the rear crossmember of my 62
and it seems that the bumper would be in the...
That's a loaded question full of many possible answers.
Long and the short of it is that if you are "revving" the engine
you will get a voltage spike which is most easlity seen in the
lights. As for the alternator, I'd check for voltage changes across
the battery (easiest place afterall)...
I'll second, third, or whatever we're at, the repair manual...can't
live without 'em...saved my tuchus. If you're going to go
with the fancy stereo bit...throw in the extra cash for the alarm.
I learned about that all too well two weeks ago. All the body
armor and lifts in the world won't...
alrighty...opened her up, sprayed all the pieces parts
and she seems to work now....however...what is the
#$%#*%^* trick to putting the damn panels back on??!
the "fix" took about 15 minutes...then I spent two hours
trying to put the friggin' panel back on. it is simply
not going into the...
Thanks guys...this is a very straightforward job so it appears.
I'll give both of your suggestions a go! Maaaan are new
parts ever spendy!
Hatfield...not to worry...been here almost a year and I'm
still a "rookie" ;p
Best group on the net though so stick around!
Thanks again,

alrighty...I have a silly but mildly irritating issue:
left rear door lock...if I use the main button up front
or the (new and embarrassing) remote, I get the
the standard *THUNK* from the door locks...but the
lock button does not pop up (and so does not unlock
to door...of course)...
My two cents: It's an easy fix...and you can believe
me because I have (virtually) no repair and replace
skillz. My only word of caution is when you pull the
resevoir out, watch out for the little outlet filter doohicky
(sorry for the technical term). It's a pain but I wouldn't
want to...
Wow ok...been awhile since I've posted anything in
the tech sections. You guys have covered everything
already! So here I go...
Did some searching on alarms on your beasties and havn't
turned up much. Here's my concern:
I am having one installed...never had a rig with an alarm...
and Throttleman is right about snapping winch cable being a killer.
I'd spend the (serious) bling on one of the synthetic replacements
like amsteel or similar "wire rope"....I'm off to check out dual battery info  ....good luck!
Not sure if it applies but I followed this thread:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=18881&highlight=A%2FC
fairly close...very good stuff there.
I had a nice leak in the system and two shops said bad condenser (YIKES)
because it wouldn't hold a charge (still had to pay for the...
not sure on the airflow issue...seems like you should have something.
as for hose:
They're always a little on the pricier side...but their diagrams are good:

I too prefer the multi tool these days...nice to have the
'extra wrench' when you're in a tight spot. I highly
recommend the Leatherman Wave because it also has
two external 'thumb deploy' capable blades. In other
words, no unfolding the tool to get to a blade.
For a strictly tactical...
