:/ EGR Coupler Nut Worked Loose, Again. Any tips?

LOL< that's funny somehow. Someone kept insisting I wrote it wrong and I found a FSM showing similar so I said WTH and changed it. It's back to the original post. I wasn't meaning bypass the O2's as much as I meant considering this: 3VZE - EGR / PAIR valve removal and engine simplification. -...

:/ EGR Coupler Nut Worked Loose, Again. Any tips?

Was the one you jumpered a single oxygen sensor or dual one b/c when we tried that with mine it didn't work. (I have dual sensors, 1 fore and 1 aft of the catalytic converter.) *Forgot to mention, PAIR Valve, not EGR, I edited the title, please make sure the edit stuck?

1980 Longbed Pickup Build - Epically Slow Style

Just be very sure to hit all those vents, wires, ets with a rag dampened in a mix of 1 cup of bleach to 5 gallons of water since it's possible the mice that did that carried Hanta. Also would be a good time to weld in a piece of sheetmetal or square stock up into the upper left corner of the...

    Starter Problems when hot outside

Check the connector plugs and male/female part of the harness for hot spots. After years of use the connections like to get dirty and don't conduct as well causing a huge amount of resistance. Clean them out, dielectric grease and give it another shot.

:lol: OKIE DOKIE? Either go with the plan for that 80, or build up a nice first gen, if you plan on having kids, ever, ask us about why we consider 80's or 100's every so often. Move forwards, not 2 steps back. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/3048225036.html Picture 5 is the magic...

Yeah, I know, problem is on CA rigs it'll trip a code and the CEL comes on. I do have a way around that but didn't need to go there. I did PM you the writeup to see if we want it in the FAQ.

Extra Cab Frame Differencea - ANY?

I wonder if the internal reinforcing plates are different at all, like the one's inside of the #2 mounts on the 4Runners that are a z-sort-of-shape. I've never bothered to look inside the 4x4 frames but I know they are definitely not in the 2wd frames and why if guys get them they're OK to do a...

Lets see some pics of your FJ Cruisers

I remember it being our last day at that campground and the wife coming back from a walk and coming up to me saying "You won't believe what this FJ-C guy towed up here no problem.." and wanting us to take a walk over before leaving to head back home. :steer: (I was busy helping the boisterous...

    FJ TRD

Hate to agree here but technically he's right as far as the marketing terms used. Trail Teams is not necessarily TRD spec. That said I'll take the TT anyday.

HELP!! 91 4runner wont engage into drive

Seen this yet, wealth of information along with the FSM link to run diagnostics http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-buchanan/93fsm/autotrans.html . I don't want to assume anything else until you have had a chance to also read through the tech here: A340 Transmission issues and FAQs -...

Extra Cab Frame Differencea - ANY?

*From memory (that's now 3 years old), body mount locations (IIRC 2 additional on x-cab vs. singlecab) and wiring harness length/branch differences are the two that stand out in my mind right now. Honestly though, once/if you lay a single cab or Runner frame side by side it all is pretty...

:/ EGR Coupler Nut Worked Loose, Again. Any tips?

Thanks! That's pretty much what I figured. I got it all tightened down and got the connector fixed, did two days of driving and no issues came back. I didn't get to drive it like I wanted this weekend though b/c I caught the stomach bug going around. I'm gonna have the 4th-5th off and will be...

    junk yard find

FWIW, speaking of finding parts, one of our local 60 Owners has gone to the dark side and is going to build his new-to-him diesel 4Runner up instead? :bounce::bounce::bounce: *Clipped down the url and removed his # so he keeps it locally or can do a classified in here without the world having...

1980 Longbed Pickup Build - Epically Slow Style

Nice, beats my weekend stuck here at home w/ the stomach flu. :o Anyone else you know working on projects refer them into this part of the forum. We need some fresh blood in here IMHO, things are stagnant. I got tired of waiting for you to bump this and decided to re-read Aaron (WristPin's)...

HELP!! 91 4runner wont engage into drive

Put the trans in park, switch it to 4WD-Low and back up 15 feet. Drive around a bit. Now, put it in Park or Neutral and switch back to 2WD. Back up 15 feet and drive forward more than 15 feet. Does the 4WD light stay on in 4WD? Does it go off once back into 2WD? If not it could be a bad...
