For me the cover would only fix a tear on the side bolster. If you sit in the passenger seat it is much more supportive all around because the foam in the drivers seat is gone. The left side is neary to the wire frame with me sitting on it. Whatever I do I'll be getting covers of some sort.
My 91 has 182xxx miles now and the drivers seat is showing it. The passenger seat in the other hand is in much better shape. Does anyone know if it's possible to swap the seats side to side? I don't care that the slide levers would be on the wrong side.
My 91 has the orriginal o2 sensors and I am wondering if I should replace them or leave them be. I have about 170k miles now, the truck runs great other than I high idle from something and gets poor milage as all 3fe do.
I just wonder if replacing the o2's will be of any benifit to me, or if...
I recently bought a full set of hir bulbs for my 91 and after modifying the bases to work as in the FAQ I am trying to install the new bulbs, however my high beam on the passenger side seams to be unpossible tonget out by hand after I manage to contort my hand to get at it.
Is there some...
Lower revs in an 80 won't yield better mpg, at least I strongly doubt. Most vehicles I have been around with low power to weight ratio and large drag coefficients bennifit from running lower axel gears to move the motor revs up into the power band at cruising speeds. The only real exception to...
Looks like a good start, it's pretty tall and Rockwell's will probably raise it a few inches more. Work on triangulation with the cage as 80's are heavy to start. Can never have too much strength in a cage. Did you attach the cage to the floor of the body or go through to the frame?
The hanger on the back of the cats is the culprit. But don't bother trying to tighten the bolts, they will break. The hose clamp around them as mentioned would be good.
My 91 has a burning issue. This week during a climbing trip to Utah that involved going up steep hills in 2nd gear at high rpm whenever we would get out white smoke would billow from the muffler area. After inspection it appears that oil is leaking out from between the motor and transmission...
I got a replacement Kool-vue from ebay, its a well made replacement. Plugs right into the toyota wiring and works. Fits just the same as the stock one. And at $60 or so its way more wallet friendly. It does shake a bit on the highway but no more than the mirrors on any other older car.
How did you modify the gm master to work with the Toyota mounts/linkages?
Also the marks adapter, it is just a plate between the transmission and transfer case or are do input/output shafts have to be changed?
They could but it would take too much more time than moving to the next rig.
What is the market on used cat's anyway? Must be higher than one would think.
I paid 2k for my 91 and for 10k miles its been great. For a grand I would by one and swap a 350tbi and gm auto for about 3 grand and drive it all the time.
