I have done low range on my 100 and a friend's 80 and didn't like the look of a couple of bearings in each of them so replaced them. Also mine had some scoring of the oil pump so replaced it as well. How many miles you have, doing seals?

Using LX bars makes me want to question the "high end shop" expertise. Could cause breakage of lower control arm as it will be bottoming out. The LCAs have a weakness usually only encountered in very hard wheeling, but the LX bars could cause the issue.
Whenever I look into mods that change the roll rate of our heavy Cruisers, these videos from the Mideast come to mind.
They sure make it look easy to roll them up on two wheels.
You may also have current flow through the standard fuse, if the meter's resistance is high enough you would not see it.
In general since you are not using the amp meter the way it is designed to be used, you really don't have good data, and other folks readings would be all over the map...
Not correct. Depending on the amp meter, say fuse has significantly lower resistance than meter, most all the current will flow through fuse and meter will only read the small amount going through it. Now if the meter resistance is way lower than the fuse it will read most of current but some...
From the description not sure you are using the amp meter correctly.
Amp meters are inserted between components, not around components.
Amp meters have low resistance so can appear like a short and change the circuit behavior.
Like this
Fuse socket -------- Fuse -------- amp meter ----- Fuse...
The most reliable emergency comm to get help is Inreach or Spot satellite systems. These are handheld so even if you are out hiking you can call for help.
The next most useful would be 2M Ham, which also provides best vehicle to vehicle comm. Ham can also provide location and message broadcast...
You probably don't have the issue at home as Alberta has a lower percent of ethanol than US or other parts of Canada. I think Canada is changing requirements to make all Canadian gasoline be E10. With non-ethanol fuel I don't have any issue at any altitude/temperature up to 13,000ft.
Way back when, gas caps had vents. Now they do not and it is up to the EVAP system absorb vapors from tank to keep pressure down. But if EVAP system has a problem or it is overloaded by E10 at high altitude / temp, then tank pressure builds up.
If you pull your actuator - DO NOT remove the phillips screws.
Once you have the actuator out mark the position of the gear on the body right away.
Once its out rehook the electrical connector and cycle the switch to see if the gear moves
back and forth a little over a half rotation. If it...
For a quick test to see if you have issues that need repairing, run a tank of non-ethanol fuel. If it's like my 100 you won't have issues with it, if you do then maybe something needs repairing. When I run the trails in the San Juan's we base out of Silverton where the small station on the...
Keeping tank full can cause issues also. When it heats up it can spout gas when you remove gas cap. Also gas can be forced up vent line and saturate the charcoal canister, which is really not good.
Edit: For a properly working EVAP system on a 100 the high tank pressure/ fuel spouting is...
The real question is how deep do you want to get into the offroad world? Forest Service type roads? Or Moab trails rated 6? See Moab Trail Ratings for some ideas. Forest service roads will take you to some pretty amazing places.
My 100 was my first offroad vehicle, when I built it in...
