"Malfunction indicator lamp" lights. Electrical problem of some sort? Starter? Alternator? Radio comes on. This is 2nd hand from wife. I'm at work. Any ideas? Thanks very much in advance.
Took the rig into my local shop for an oil change and investigate why the oil light comes on intermitently...
Anyway, got a call saying that the "drive belts" were "dry and cracking" and he suggested replacement. Says should be done every 50k miles or so. Which belts are those exactly? If...
Maybe I never noticed it before but my wife sure is pointing it out to me now.
When ever one shifts into park and lets one's foot off the brake, the truck lurches forward close to a foot I'd say.
Huh?
After driving for about 10 minutes. Oil was last changed about 5K miles ago. Haven't checked the level just yet but have noticed no leaks. Any cause for concern? Thanks.
Every time we get a good rain, I get vertical streaks of "dirt" running down the truck on all sides. If I don't wash or quick detail the car within a day of the rain, those "dirt streaks" really adhere to the paint to the point I have to use an ispropyl/water solution or paint cleaner to remove...
Right now I'm in no position to work on my truck as I live in a condo with a packed single-car garage. Not to mention I'm a mechanical noob with few tools. :ban: I would not have a problem at all paying an honest, knowledgeable technician to work on it. Ideally if that person would let me...
I've read here about you guys stressing the import of doing these services every ~30k and ~60k respectively. Is this mainly because of the abuse your vehicles take while offroading? I don't even see these as Toyota factory recommended services unless I'm missing something.
Sounds almost like someone playing a tamborine in the distance, pretty faint but audible and consistent. I know thats not much to go on but you guys are the experts, I have faith.
I have a stock and (to this point) dealer serviced '97 with 100k miles.
I've read a lot about the various "aggressive" tires you guys use but those would be overkill for my trucking needs. I currently have Michelin LTX's with about 10,000 miles left on them but I want to start looking for replacements now.
What would you guys recommend for stock Cruiser...
On the 97 Cruiser... I think it has a chain? So theres' not a replacemnt interval for it?
Also, how often do you guys change the engine coolant? Every 30k or is that overkill?
1) Are you a DIYer?
2) Take it to the dealer?
3) Take it to a trusted mechanic?
4) Service? What service?
I have a 97 Lexus LS 400 and the running joke about Lexus dealers is that you pay
way to much for too little. Are Toyota dealers anything like that?
Hi,
I'm in the market for a '95-98 Land Cruiser. First, to display now much of an LC noob I am, I don'et even know what series it is.
Right now I'm negotiating on a '97 locallly and have a very low bid into another on eBay
Can anyone give me any advice or warnings about that...
