Sorry to say I sold my last 80 about 5 years ago... no time to play, kids taking over, and the motor was just too damn hard to park in london - or drive into multi storey car parks - or open the doors once you've parked. You get the idea...
So I have the following parts to clear, all dirt cheap...
My older '93 (now sold) had the codes, and alo used to sometimes stumble when coasting to a halt, and also wouldn't always pick up cleanly from standstill/low revs. Changed it to the latter 60221 ECU (from the US incidentally, couldn't find one over here in the UK) and everything sorted...
Hi guys,
I'm in the UK and my truck is in Z... could anyone perhaps help me out by measuring the OD of the downpipes (well above the Y junction) please ?
96 model 1FZFE
Knackered exhaust, have a new non-toy one that doesn't line up properly, so want to buy a couple of flex sections to weld in...
I'm going to do the usual remove stuff and clean it all out, but I was wondering, how does it know there's insufficient flow ?
Mine appears to have no temp sensor - well, if there is it's certainly not opposite the EGR valve (93 1fzfe) on the inlet manifold...
What sensor is it using ?
Thanks...
Excellent, got it thanks... Posers thread is good - missed that completely !
I looked at mine and I couldn't see the join line between the rotor and the spigot, so I figured it was one piece....
Thanks again, JB
Hi guys, '96 80's rear brakes making some (light) scraping noises, done the pads (very thin), no change regarding the noise, figure it's probably the e-brake shoes worn out / spring broken in there or somesuch.
Doing a search looks like it's quite a job to remove the rotor/drum - do I have to...
They are easy to roll back / forwards.
I had to change mine as it was knackered, swapped in one from an older truck, and spent a few minutes changing it to get it close to the old one's mileage.
@mac - mine was a JDM - never saw anything ilke that. Still got the old one will double check - it...
Stock height OMEs gave my JDM around 20mm lift all round, and made the ride much better - the stock springs were just way too soft, every time I braked it felt like the nose was about to plough down through the road.. then again they were 16 years old !
It doesn't look lifted, it just doesn't...
surely easier to strip and and have a look before paying for expensive refurbs ? The contacts often wear, cheap to replace, cover that torn wire insulation with that thick plastic spiral "wrap around" type insulation (the wire itself looks fine, right ?) and stick it in the car - it's a 10...
I'd just weld a bead on there... (about to repalce a set on my Isuzu that the Zambian roads killed, these are metal cased, not plastic, and 5" not 8", so should hold up much better !)
My 93 runs LPG, no probs. Uses a carb type variable orrifice mixer (BLOS from poland I think) injection LPG into the air intake tube between the filet and the throttle plate, works very well, no downsides as far as I can tell, had the motor 2.5 years
Better systems drill the manifold and have...
Sorry if this is old news but I couldn't find record of it....
Took the cluster out of my 93 over the weekend (had to verify the VSS wire continuity).
Figured I might as well take the speedo clock out of the cluster and have a look.. was suprised to find 3 pots on the bottom edge of the PCB...
