Brainstormed....
Putting 1 tons under the 40. 4 link rear/3 link front, coilovers, ordered a 22 gal Jaz fuel cell, picked up the 700R4, getting ready to get the Atlas, Raceline beadlocks, and 4Dee" rubber.
Poor cruiser doesn't get wheeled much in it's current form, although there isn't much...
What do you mean by remounted/positioned correctly? Just confused as the springs are U-bolted to the axle, the axle is mounted to the frame and shackles, just the way you remove them.
And what makes you want to go with a Skyjacker lift?
That is much better. Seems several of the expensive type mod's have already been handled, i.e. SBC/power steering. Lil John is right on with ARB's, but he also brings up a good point. What type of wheeling do you do? Are you going to wheel enough to be able to justify $800 dollar a piece...
I'll give you two free mod's you can do right fast. Flip that damn bezel and chop the ends of that 100 ft long bumper off!! Both will make your rig wheel exponentially better.
Depends on how much cash you have to spend. If a "little cash" is 500 bones, you get a locker, a sweet shift knob from Auto Zone, a dashboard hula girl, plus some fuel to wheel. If you have 5 grand, then there is a ton of things you can do, which include the 37's, cage, SOA, etc. Just...
That's Donner Ski Ranch. We compete several times a year up there between WE Rock and Calrocs.
We use my 40 as a support rig for most events, coolers, tools, food....had to pull the Optima out of it this last comp to put in the buggy because the buggy's red top died.
Try going in 1st and reverse a few times, then try to put it in 2wd. Then disengage your hubs.
Try moving the t-case shifter while your doing it also. It should slip out.
Hand raised. This gets driven every day, pretty much no matter what. I have several other vehicles, that definately get better gas mileage than the 10 I get in this, but it's what I want to drive and have fun driving. Put maybe 250 miles on it today.
A rust free Alabama truck? 34 LTB's....I'd say a million at least!!
The reason I never had a 40 until I left Alabama was because you can't find them without rust for a decent price.
Good find, not sure what that woiuld bring back there.
I am usually not a fan of newish wheels on 40's, but that looks really good. I've never saw those kind of tires until today actually. A new 2500 Duramax in the parking lot had them. They look pretty tough, curious to hear about wear and offroad performance from you.
