1981 Landcruiser BJ42. Hardtop 4X4. When they built these things they were built like tanks...and drive like them too. Selling due to the fact I'm not driving it. Hate to see it sit and not get some use. It is in shape enough that it doesn't look like a pile of junk, but not so perfect that you...
I don't really want to sell this. Just finished it to the point where it looks good, and can take the family in it. I have put in hours of labor and tons of money into this, but it just isn't being used.
I have re-built the tub (new metal bent not panels) and painted it (roller job but looks...
My biggest concern would be burning out the impeller in the water pump. Guessing by the size it would be an impeller style......or is it just the engine without the water pump?
SOOOOO. I checked the intake at the EGR. Couldn't see a lot, but it was filthy with black oily crud. I was also reading on TDIclub and seems that the intercooler gets plugged as well. I'm going to take it all off and clean it (when I get time). I'll post some pics when I get to it in a week or...

OK. So it's coked up from the EGR into the intake? Any other advise in doing this?
Thanks
Mike

I'll check the EGR. Hard to have a look at anything on that car. To change the oil I have to remove this large plastic cover on the bottom just to drain the oil. Not Like my Cruiser where I crawl under without even jacking it up. Wish I could talk my...
Has anyone every experienced their Turbo pack it in and tell me what it did?
I have had the line from the Turbo to the engine go on a Semi and it lost power, however that thing had more computer in it than my laptop.
I'm trying to diagnose my 1.9L VW Jetta (family car I drive a BJ42). Used...
303 Aerospace Protectant. Great product. UV protection. Kayak company on Vancouver Island, Seaward Kayaks, expressly recommends it for maintaining their kayaks. I've used it on rubber, vinyl and fiberglass. Works great. Even keeps the dust off better than armor all. It's the only thing I will...
