    3FE Owners Check-In

17,000 miles on the clock. Oh yeah, it had about 211,000 miles on the old one, before the PO replaced it. Cruise doesn't work, AC needs work, needs oil, tranny and radiator flushed but she's got a fresh front end and I know I can lock the diff and go anywhere I need to go. :D Rob

Real time help-looking for an inner axle seal 91 FJ80

Hey guys, I screwed up one of my inner axle shaft seals putting it in. Does anybody have an extra laying around for a '91 80? No go with Napa and I need to get this thing fixed and inspected so my wife can take her van to see her sister next weekend in upstate New York. I'll get a couple on...

Front Axle Rebuild - For FAQ

My question was about cleaning the grease/ gear oil soup out of the axle/ diff. I think I'll go with dkroth's suggestion and just keep changing gear oil 'til I get clean oil. As far as the hubs and rotors, I used an 18" breaker bar on one nut, and put my Hi-Lift handle on a ratchet on another...

Front Axle Rebuild - For FAQ

I got everything disassembled with no problems except separating the hubs from the rotors are proving to be a bitch. I have a question... My outer axles, and obviously the diff are filled with goop from the worn seals. How do I clean everything out, short of taking the axle off and douching it...

    Armoring your 80

What are your needs or priorities for mounting a winch or a swing away tire carrier? I really need a better place for my spare than in the back, and I don't want to screw around with putting it on the roof, so that puts it on a swing away. I can't justify a winch right now, so the rear bumper...

    Discriminating Against Pre 95 80's

I would love the front and rear lockers, and a more powerful engine sometimes, but I love my old tractor engine, bus tranny, beat-up '91! Rob

I'm slowly but surely stocking up on parts for this. Somebody hit the nail on the head with the hipbone connected to the kneebone analogy though! Rob

Built 80 at Lowes in Lynnwood, WA???

Love seeing the names of towns up there. I was stationed on Whidbey my first six years in the Navy (93-99). I really miss it! Rob

Mid-Coast-Yota, Regarding all Hampton Roads, and Coastal Carolina Toyotas

Hey! It's been a while since I've posted on here. Lots of uncertainty about whether I was keeping the Cruiser or not. It seems like it's always a point of contention, but after negotiations and arguments, it looks like I'm keeping her! Oh, and the truck, too! What's going on this summer...

    Real time help please

OK, I figured out that the end rides on the rail. I took the rail off and it was a little mangled, so I fixed it with a rubber mallet. The offset bend in the actuator is a little f'd up, so it won't stay on the rail right. Any suggestions?

    Real time help please

'91 FJ80 DS power window fell off the track. I got it back on track, but I see the rear part of the actuator needs to be connected to something to keep the window from tipping forward. What does it connect to? TIA Rob

Good looking GSDs, Ed. I love the build of "working" shepherds. They look so much more like the German standards instead of AKC.
