Sweet rig. Just finished 6000 miles to and from New Foundland. No issues till I used Canada gas. O2 sensor, I think it might be wiring issue. Shifter celinoid is needed, starter needed. I'm going to work on the starter in three weeks upon my return from vacation. Two new deep cycle NAPA bats...
New tank installed. easy fix instead of the expensive versions. I saw this on some ones rig and looked into the possibility of using it on my trailer. Worked like a charm. I now have the water in quantity in the trailer instead of having all the plumbing in the truck with a way too small 3...
Well you all made me do it!;) Time to get a project in the works for the next camping trip/road trip. I'm tired of hoisting the trailer spare on to the roof rack and it is to big to go under the trailer like I had originally wanted to do. It is also to big to fit on the tongue so the only place...
So here is a good vendor report to offset some of the bad guy reports. Mostly Jeep parts for builds but the spindles for do it your self bumpers swing outs are pretty sweet!
I just received two spindle kits from Comp 4x4 and was really super satisfied with their quality and customer service I...
Some years ago I remember someone having horn issues, like the thing going off and not being able to shut it off short of pulling a wire. This happened to me last night in a parking lot. Just after starting the beast the horn went off and wouldn't shut off unless I pulled the wires.
Does...
Well it's only been two years since I started this project on a whim and short of time. I wanted a free standing awning that was very easy to put up and take down and that had no poles to get in the way. I also wanted it to be high enough to be able to walk under with out hitting my head on the...
No big deal really but I needed a project as I was getting cabin whacky. The temp finally came up a bit so I decided to put some extra light in back up mode.
This all started a few weeks ago when aI got a call from my sons friend asking if I still thought I had a tough truck. He needed a pull...
So I spent an hour+ looking for some ones swing out tire carrier on the rear of a trailer and I could only find one.
If you guys have one would you please post a photo! I am looking for ideas (copy) for one I am going to build onto my M100.
Thanks in advance for any help at all.
Guys,
I am going to fab up a spare tire carrier for my trailer and I have been searching the web for pre assembled spare tire spindle assy's and I'm stuck on who to go with. Does anyone have any experience with any reputable vendors for these things? I have looked at Trout Enterprises, Iron...
I know the info is here somewhere but I cant find it in search. Did the seven pin mod and when in low with the center diff lock button switched off, the front and rear lockers just blink and don't seem to engage.
When I lock the center lock the front and rears lock up right away.
Any ideas...
Might be chat but I'll try here. Had to do a max emergency maneuver last weekend and I didn't have a chance to think about it it just happened. Please laugh at this but it scared the heck out of me.
Driving back roads in WI and putting along bout 60 or so, from out of my right field of view a...
Well, I must say, the Camp Kitchen kicks ass! Worked great to have cooking surface, light, water pressure and a good work surface.. The trailer caries it in style and with ease.
Womacje was sleeping high and dry backed up to the Lake.
I tried to drive on the shore but all of the stones were...
Well after all the work that went into the CK, getting it out by myself and setting it up every night was a pain in the butt for one person. Camping with a group is a different story though.
Being by myself, it was much easier to do this... I made a couple legs to hold the rear of the storage...
Took off the wiper seals on the outside of the axle and of the two rubber seals with the groove one was grove in and one was grove out.
Someone please set me straight on which way the groove sits. Outward toward the tire or inward toward the center of the truck.
Thanks a ton.
This has nothing to do with 4wheelin but just some fun stuff in infrared photography. I had my Nikon D1x converted to IR and got it back today and snapped this as a test exposure and inverted the red blue channels. The second photo is straight color IR.
Well, it's done and ready for the trip round Lake Superior. I spent the past two days readying the trailer with new struts to hold the top up with the RTT on it and fresh paint on the interior and fenders. Then finishing the plumbing on the CK to accept water from the truck.
First photo is of...
Anybody out there know of any good TOPO software for the North Shore of Lake Superior, the Canadian side. I have all the Nat Geo State stuff but they don't go into Canada. I'm doing a 360 of Lake Superior this summer and would like to be able to know what the sights and camping are like. Thanks...
Another move if necessary thread...
Lap top mount installed. 3/4 inch rod and a torch made the bends as easy as a hot knife through butter. Welded two tabs to fit under the seat bolts and bent the tabs to fit snug along the floor and wrap around the rod. I had a pivoting head sitting in the...
