On my 02' LX, I get two beeps when unlocking and one beep when locking. Lights flash as well. I believe the car automatically locks itself if you don't open a door within 60 seconds after unlocking the car.
I had a similar sound, but it came from further below. Might be worth checking. For me it was the rubber cover where the steering column meets the firewall. I greased it up with some Lithium Grease 8 years ago and the noise hasn't returned.
My rubbing noise came from the rubber boot where the column meets the firewall. Some lithium grease too care of it (all I had at the moment, 7 years ago). I imagine any type of grease will do.
Sorry for late reply. Unfortunately I don't remember which model I got. I sold it a couple of years back as I was going to do something better/built in, but it still hasn't happened. I did not take the sub out of the tube, I used the whole tube with integrated amplifier. A little too big...
Just to let everyone know I went with the X-Ice Xi2 265/70r16. I will update this thread after the winter, or earlier if I run into any problems. Thanks for all the help!
I just heard back from the tire shop that the LTX Winter version is being phased out so now I'm looking at the Hankook Ipike RW11 in 265/75/16. Let's see how it goes.....
Looks like Michelin makes a tire, Michelin LTX Winter, that comes in 265/75/16. I believe this will fit the original rims and the diameter will be 1.3% larger than stock tires. I think I will order these and give them a try unless any of you have had bad experiences with this tire.
Thanks! My previous winter tire was the Geolandar I/T and I really liked it. The G015 doesn’t get very good reviews and no longer comes in 275/70/16. Does anyone have any experience with either the Ice X XI2 or the G015 in 265/70/16. I rarely go off road so most of the time it will be paved road.
Hello all,
Seems the 275/70/16 tire size is a dying breed, especially when it comes to winter tires. I have tried pretty much everywhere here in Vancouver, BC and nobody seems to be able to source a good winter tire. Most places will offer the A/T KO2s but they are too aggressive for my...
My tilt motor just died. Tried finding a thread with removal instructions without luck so I'm here wondering if anybody else has done this and if it was easy or hard.
Bad multimeter for sure if you get those readings one two different cars. I am currently going through the same with a new battery but system is draining battery. I checked Voltage with a multimeter and got around 12.6v when off and 13.9v with no load at 2000rpm so I thought I was ok. But under...
Maybe try to "re-seat" the two screws that hold the cluster in place (upper left and right). Don't know if this will fix the problems but it's an easy first step.
I had this happen when I first bought the truck and in my case the accelerator cable needed to be adjusted to take out the slack. It turned out the cable ended up on top of the groves on the wheel-looking thing near the Throttle Body instead of in them and when the cable "fell" back into the...
I don't know if you are having the same problem as I when mine leaked, but I had to really tighten the nut. I thought I was going to break it, but it stopped leaking. Still, be careful so it doesn't break.
My Generation 2/3 disc reader broke and I found a used one (Generation 4) at the salvage yard from I think a Prius. Same unit in several Toyotas. Cost me about $200. Fairly easy to install. Did it with passenger seat in place. I believe the gen 2/3 has some part that breaks down easily so better...
At least in my car the air coming out of the vents in the rear is not as cold as the air coming out of the front ones. If you had a leak in the rear line, then the front would be loosing charge as well, as they are on the same system.
I used to drive Citroens and the jacking system was great. Unfortunately the same trick didn't work with my 02' LX last week when changing over to summer tires. The truck won't lower itself and I think it might be some sensors that won't allow it. Or maybe I did it the wrong way.
