What would be the towing capacity of a car necessary to pull a fj40 without using a trailer? Just attaching the fj40 using a tow bar to the trailer hitch.
Took out the front shocks and compressed them and there was no resistance. They just push in real fast and pull out hard. Are they bad? I already ordered new ones if they are.

Also, How many quarts of oil does the diff's take and what kind should I buy?
Went to JW Corbett last week and decided to get dirty. Had the car up to the fenders in water. Then drive 30 mph through trail 7 with mud and dirt. Didn't want to go to deep into the park without a buddy or a winch. All I had was a shovel incase I did get stuck :) Not a big deal compared to the...

I can get a complete front axle from a 1985 4runner and I was wondering if this would work.

I have a 1970 fj40 and I need a spare tire and rim. Its the 6 lug wheel and I wanted to know what cars/trucks use this bolt pattern? Currently I have 15 inch rims with 31 x 11.5 tires
I turn the wheel a few inches either way and the front wheels don't turn. Feels like there is alot of play to the wheel. What bushings would cause this?
Don't know the name but on the hubs where you turn the dial to engage 4x4 one side is very hard to turn by hand. Is this a sign of a rebuild somewhere on the front axle?
I have a leaking power brake seal and I need the metal bracket that the u bolts bolt to on the rear axle. Mine are very rusted. Where can I get these parts? Outfitters only sells the u bolts not the bracket.
For many many years whenever I start my cruiser you have to turn teh key a few times and all it does is click then you need to turn the key again and click then after that the starter kicks in and starts. What could be causing this?
I have a 1970 fj40 and the fluid is dissapearing from the tranny. I think the fluid is going into the transfer case. Does anyone know who sells a seals/gasket kit for the tranny and transfer case?
Thanks
