    Yotawerx Tune

It's a reflash. They have them for 4th and 5th gen 4Runners. Go to the Yotawerx site, there is a list of places that can do it for you, or you can buy a tuner from them preloaded with the SW for your rig and DIY. I have had other 4Runner owners drive mine and they are blown away. BUT... I...

    Yotawerx Tune

Definitely more power, especially at the lower end of the spectrum. Pulling through corners in 3rd gear is much easier now. Towing a trailer full of dirt bikes is also easier. Makes me wonder why Toyota didn't tune them this way from the start

33s on a TRD Pro (Eibach Pro Lift Kit) - Rebuild Shocks?

Some random notes. I have not tried Eibach springs on a Toyota, but they have been producing springs for ATVs and dirt bikes since at least the 1980s. They know what they're doing. FYI, just about every Fox 2.0 shock I have seen with more than 30k on them have been leaking. I have OME...

This one mod Literally saved my life.

4Runner brakes are absolutely fantastic. Why would I want to "fix" such a phenomenal system?

    Eibach stage 1 on 20124runner sr5

Mine is completely level, BUT... I have a spacer on the left rear spring and my left front spring has the spring seat one position higher than on the right side. Otherwise it would lean to the left.

Thank you, Mr. Walsh! Yes, I have an update. I should have done this long ago. It is so much more enjoyable to drive. Power is up, mileage is up a tad as well. I actually got rubber out of a stoplight last week after I turned off the traction control.

    Yotawerx Tune

I'm an analog guy in a digital world. Give me a V8, a Rochester Quadrajet and a distributor, and I can make it all run perfectly. Those days and that hardware are long gone. I have never before done something like this, but I stopped in to Battle Born Offroad in Las Vegas this week and had...

Engine shutting off during long trips.

Thanks! I liked it too, but that shutting down thing got old. I think I had it fixed right about the time a new issue arose; the steering rack disassembled itself in the Walmart parking lot. No sooner did I have that under control (almost, still needed Tech Stream to sort out the BS) when the...

Engine shutting off during long trips.

Buying a new 4Runner cured this problem once and for all.

    Eibach stage 1 on 20124runner sr5

You're running Eibach shocks from a Tundra on the rear? I'm curious how that's working for you, I know the ones that are made specifically for the 4Runner are too short. I might suggest removing the rear springs and comparing them side by side. Maybe swap them from side to side. 4Runners are...

    Oil Change Interval

I did two oil change intervals of 10,000 miles when the vehicle was new. I used Mobile1 synthetic of the specified weight. Both times, after the oil change, it ran noticeably better. At first I thought that perhaps I had imagined it, but after the second time, I realized that the 10K interval...

    Old Man Emu Spring Question(s)

Just raise the seat position and try it.

    Springs to go with Bilstiens?

I'm running those shocks with OME medium springs. 3" lift with that combo, rides nicely.

St George Muffler and Radiator made it for me. Cost about 1/3 as much as the URD.

Exhaust Dos and Don'ts. I put in the 70 Series Flowmaster muffler along with the custom Y pipe that the guys at St George Muffler and Radiator did for me (love these guys!) I had a 70 series on an LX470 and it was phenomenal! A sweet, mellow, beautiful V8 rumble, never raspy, no drone...

Tell me why not to buy an FJC

Get the same chassis and drivetrain with more usability in every other aspect. It's called a 5th Gen 4Runner. :)

    Performance parts

I just installed a TRD intake. I bought the parts individually, cheaper that way by about $100. There has been a raging debate for decades about the effectiveness of aftermarket intakes. Many people claim they make no difference other than noise. So here's my take: It cost all total with...

    catalytic converter LX470 2005

I never replaced the cats. I got some self adhesive reflective material and put it on the gas tank wherever it was exposed. I did replace the vapor canister. Then I sold the vehicle and bought a 2022 5th Gen 4Runner.

    Identify this nut ?

I'll second the upper strut mount. Without question, that's what it is.

I love the pedal commander. The Y pipe is known to be something that can easily be improved. The crossover is very restrictive where it passes under the transfer case and losing the two rear cats also helps.
