Hey that’s me! If you’re really quiet you can hear it rust, but I put 22 square feet of sheet metal into it in the 90’s so it’s only rusty in a few little places. Floors and rockers are nice and solid. Been dailying it for 20+ years.
Does anyone know of a tire shop up north (Cedar Par/Leander) that will mount a 33x10.50 onto stock 40/55 rims? Discount wouldn't touch them this morning. Looking at the Toyo Open Country MT per Nolan's recommendation in the tall and skinny thread.
I could be persuaded to attend this one. I like the idea of the badlands/black hills and Acadia NP (family in ME). CO would be cool, but last time I drove to a pig meetup in Colorado, nobody else showed up!
Nat,
I run 33x12.50's on my pig with 3" alcans. They are great tires, and I've got over 20k miles on them, with a ton of tread left to go. They have been quiet, a lot more quiet than my old all terrains. No power steering isn't a problem, it's actually easier to steer than with the...
I've been with Kirk once before, it's a lot of fun. Lots of water crossings, not too challenging, and some great scenery. Definitely worth a visit, it's one of my favorite places I've ever wheeled.

Looks very cool, I've never been out to Red Sands, it's a long drive from the far west side. There's lots of cool stuff out here too, like Todd's Trail, Juando Pass, the Playground, the Wall, and Kilbourne's Hole. What part of town are you guys in?

I've been meaning to talk about what I've done for a while now, so here it is:
I started out by removing the old dashpad and using masking tape to mask off the area that the original pad covered. Using a couple of layers of fiberglass cloth, I made a base for the dashpad:
next, using...
To offer a dissenting voice, my dad and I gas welded all 22 square feet of sheet metal into my FJ55, and I am currently doing some rust repairs on my 61 sunbeam alpine using only gas. I find that while it takes a little while longer to learn, it creates much softer welds that are easier to...
I actually just dealt with this yesterday. The way to fix it is to take off the tailgate access panel, and with the window up, you will see a linkage from the handle to the latch. This linkage has an adjustment in the middle, all you need is a 10 mm wrench to loosen the nut, then pull the...
I don't personally have any extras, but when I busted one of mine, I ordered a used one from Spectre for like $25 plus shipping. I thought it was pretty reasonable.

FWIW, I have an IPOR rear bumper on my Pig, and it's pretty well made, but the tire wobbles a bit more than I'd like. I have no experience with his FJ60 bumper, however.

Anyone know whether or not the TPI manifold from an 88-ish camaro/firebird/etc will fit on an 88 350 that was originally carbureted? None of my Chevy interchange books come right out and say whether or not it will fit, although they hint that they might. Thanks for the help.
