Yeah, I was really stoked that Toyota had decided to step off into the reman game by providing "quality" units. Unfortunately, they must've just outsourced that project to another company, as the axles themselves didn't look like Toyota shafts.
Inasmuch as they're no longer available from...
FWIW: After waiting about 3 months for them to arrive, I bought 2 reman units from Toyota for my '06 Land Cruiser, and I had to return BOTH of them in less than 100 miles. One's splines were so worn from prior use that they "clicked" in my new drive flanges, and the other one had a bad...
Hmmmm. Interesting.
FWIW, if you decide to keep your metal T setup, you might want to look into some European hose clamps. They're also worm drive, but they don't have gear holes that go through the clamp band, and they have rolled edges to prevent the band from digging into the hoses like...
This^^ If you haven't already resolved this issue, it's most likely the cup bushing on which the "rotating ball" of the shifter rests. If it's worn, it'll allow the shifter to go too far into the transmission, and the shifter tip gets hung up on stuff. Often you can test this by lifting up on...
Yeah, I saw where Volvo totally cut off funding for Polestar.

@wct49 your car has arrived!
Yeah, I agree. I usually prefer OEM wheel applications, and like you said, the two I posted aren’t as common as most. I’m just looking for something different than the other Tundra/Sequoia wheels I see every day
I've got a new-to-me 2nd generation 4x4 Sequoia, and I'm exploring OEM wheel options. I'm not sure which trim level these came on, but I've seen them on both Tundras and Sequoias. Note: they're 5-lug wheels, and I've seen them referred to as "carved."
If anyone has some they'd be interested...
Since those models have the factory nav system that incorporates radio, hvac, etc., do you know how the radio interfaces with the factory system? I might be interested, but I never knew an aftermarket radio was an option for those years in U.S.-spec. Thanks.
Like @fountainhead said, a direct wire configuration is a set-and-forget installation. However, since my shop is about 1,100 feet from the closest source for internet, my only practical option was line-of-sight transmission. Most everyone I talked with suggested Ubiquiti equipment.
My...
Yeah, being an ‘85, you should have had the early floor set (‘81-‘85) Your front seat risers are much too tall to fit in the shallow pockets of the later floor. Also, ‘86 FJ60 through ‘90 FJ62 are all the same (notch in the cargo area), as the tool kit moved from under the driver’s seat to...
When I was working with them to create the 60/62 carpet, we found the early floor runs up to December, 1985. The late floor starts March, 1986 (at least that’s the closest I’ve been able to narrow it down.) I don’t know if there was a gap in production at that point or if I’ve just never had a...
I've never seen OEM parts come in anything but a clear package with the red and white label. Plus, like someone above said, those are WAY crude looking for Toyota parts! They should be smooth and satin-to-shiny in appearance.
Thought I'd reach out to see if anyone has changed their wheels and might have a set of these they'd like to move. I saw some on a Sequoia the other day, and I liked them. Image below. (Sorry, these were taken from an online salvage site)
Thanks!
