Yes. The PO had welded angle iron to mount the winch which made things easy. The problem was the fairlead. My crew fabbed up brackets for the fairlead. Worked out well!

Since this truck has an Aqualu tub, I haven't felt pressure to keep it all original. That said, I have used OEM parts wherever possible. One example of this is the wheels. They are powder coated, chrome 60 wheels. I like the look of the white wheels with the Freeborn.

The carb was nasty after soaking in water for who knows how long. Attached is a picture of what was left after disassembly. Gives you an idea of the condition. We rebuilt it but never got it so it would idle properly. Based on recommendations in this forum, I bought a City Racer...

As part of this process, I took the head to a machine shop for a refresh with OEM valve seals. It is pretty now!

After retrieving the 40 from paint, we were stumped when we could not get it to start or even turn over. Turns out, that while sitting in the painter's yard under a tarp for two+ years, water had entered the air cleaner, carb, intake manifold and unfortunately, the engine. It was locked up...

    Help! Water in cylinders!

Is the hose from the air cleaner going to the PCV valve? I cannot tell from the photos. Also, where is your heater valve?

I had the seat backs powder coated satin black. I think they look good with the coral seats.
