Again, just a weekend mechanic. I hear people saying disconnect the battery when checking electronic connections. I should have checked the CEL first though. Funny thing is, I think, there was no CEL icon lit up. I only saw it when the key was in the on position.
I do actually, but I am a weekend mechanic trying to keep my 1994 Land Cruiser on the road. Only the 2nd time it stopped while driving. The only other time was when the electrical wires on the top of the engine was burned due to heat. A traveling Land Cruiser Specialist from this forum was in...
I have a 1994 Land Cruiser, which stalled while stepping on the gas while making a right turn. It cranks but does not start. I am doing the CEL code reading and all I see is a flashing CEL icon, counting over 100 times without stopping. What does this mean when the CEL flashes quickly without...
Really nice Land Cruiser. Where did you buy the exterior door moulding? I am looking for door moulding like those on the 1997 Anniversary Edition. Thanks
It was at my daughter's school during the morning drop-offs. I pulled up behind this beautiful Forest Green Land Cruiser (probably a 1994) and just fell in love with the curves, the roof rack, the classy look, just the whole thing. I didn't really know much about cars back then, but I knew I...
I am doing this for the first time and have removed the left side and ready for cleaning but the right side, I am having trouble seperating the arm from the tie rod. I have a 1994 LC and in the manual, there's a special tool to remove the upper and lower bearing cap. The lower bearing cap...
What year is your LC? I have a 94 and failed smog so I removed the upper manifold and cleaned out all vacuum lines and passages. Smog passed. I think you need it for smog in states like California. They look like the vacuum hoses under the upper manifold.
Took the family for a drive to Glass Beach at Fort Bragg and down the coast on Hwy 1 to Mendocino. Love seeing the Cruiser at different locations. And wine tasting on the way.
Looks good although I am a tad tilted to the original color since I have the same 94. Looks great with a tan interior though and original rims. Just my 2 cents
Anyone has a smaller bug deflector on their mighty 80, probably one from a 4runner of the same era (90s)? It's thinner and shorter, where it does not cover above the side-markers? Thanks
I too looked for a 95 and up but took a 94 for a test drive and never looked back. That was in 2008 and it had 178k n now its at 250k. Love doing maintenance stuff like oil pump, dizzy, water pump, painted valve cover, egr, etc. Its a family rig for snowboarding and weekend trips and will keep...
