I lived in WP for 2 years and did the commute to COS every day. It never got old. Cup of coffee and about a 35 minute drive (depending on where you work). I moved to NC last June and I am getting ready to move back because my wife and I miss that area so much! Good luck to you.
This sounds ridiculous, but I can not get the stock steering stabilizer to come off of my 78 FJ40. What is the trick? I have beat the SH!T out of it after trying to coax it off for more than 30 minutes and it will not come off. I am about ready to saw it in half. Please advise...I need help.
Tucker: I've tried that website also several times...Maybe I'm a little slow, but I can not access anything on that site except J$$P Crap. Please send exact link if you have broken the code. Thanks.
By the way, I have been looking for one of these for a few months now and am definitely...
Nice...I was just in one of the "other" STANS recently, I wish I would have thought about it. I probably could have flown one over to my ISU 90 container in a blackhawk and shipped it for free...Any other suggestions?
I guess I was hoping someone either ordered an extra on an earlier...
road trip
Drove my '78 from NC to CO (1800 miles - 3 days - no stereo). The only issue that I had was I picked up a bad tank of gas in Kansas and had to "blow" out my fuel filter about 5 times and then ultimately found a parts store and rigged up an aftermarket filter to get me there. All in...
2f Engine parts - Exhaust manifold....
I need several parts for my 2f. I need an Exhaust intake in good condition and the pass. side engine cover plate (not sure what the correct name is, has the X's stamped in the plate that I need).
I may also need a timing chain cover in good condition...
I am talking to several local body shops and geting estimates on a complete re-paint of my 40. I know everyone seems to have a strong opinion about clearcoat vs. single stage finishes. What experiences have you guys had? I had planned to go with a factory orig. look and stick with the single...
Thinking of doing a frame-up resto on the cosmetic side of things for my '78 FJ40. The guy who painted it did a terrible job and did zero prep. There is very little rust on the body tand I think that it is definitely worth fixing.
I have a guy that will sandblast the entire body for about...
I've got a white set on my '78 right now that look identical to the ones in your picture but w/o the clips. I want a set of the grey that will fit my 78 so I cn go retro with the hubcaps and all. :)

Romer, IDave: Your advise Sucks :) :)
No, seriously, I tried that and no luck while using a remote start wire. Luckily my trusty mechanic is just 4 blocks away from the house. I hate giving up on stuff like this, but they are calling for several days of solid snow starting late tonite and...
I know that the jets will need to be changed out and I plan to do that once I get her going. HAC?? What does that look like and where would I find it if I have one? I assume that device would likely force more air into the carb.
MY dizzy is electronic ignition (no points). I cracked her...
I agree IDave, I just went out and mapped the existing vaccum lines on the rig. If I could post pics, I'd post them so you could see what I have to work with, it would not surprise me if something is wrong there, because most of the emissions stuff is gone or not hooked up.
