im doing something very similar as you. I have a '69 40 that im putting the axles, tranny and tcase, and engine out of a late year '85 fj60. I have done the axle change over already and did a shackle reversal as well. Now im workin on getting the new 4 speed bell housing with the body mounts on...
ya i am doing a cut and turn thats why i wanted to know the stock caster angle. I will prob end up puting it at 4 sense that seems to be a number everyone keeps telling me.
Hey guys so Im doing a soa with 60 axles. the problem is when i got them they had no perchs or anything on them. So i need to know what the stock caster angle is for an '85 fj60 front axle. Im posting up on the 60 section to but i figure you guys will know just as much. So please help im trying...
So im doing a soa on my 40 but using 60 axles under it. I picked up the axles bare and baught some new spring perches and everything I need. The thing I dont know (cuz there was nothing on the axle when I got it) is what the stock caster angle is supposed to be for a '85 front axle? Thanks

Any chance you will be making soft top bows for the 40's? No one makes them and my dad brother and I are looking for sets... The soft top set up is what I have been looking for for the longest time. Any chance?

I have a fj40 tub that is in pretty good shape. The sides are gone but the tub like i said is in good shape so if you need a new tub or you just need parts of the tub were getting rid of it for like $25. So send me a message and i can put up some pics if you want them. Thanks.

so iv been out messing with the cross member whats the best way to mod the cross member that came with the fj60 to mount it to the frame on my 40? or should i put out the money to buy one thats made for what im doing? if so where should i look?
ok maybe im wrong but i wanted to make sure i wasnt cuz im doing a soa and the new drop to get to my axle would put it riding on the cross member would it not?? it just seems like a really tight fit and i dont want my ds to be riding on the cross member when im wheeling.
