I presently have a 73 FJ40 with SOA, 38” Swampers. I have done a Mini-truck disk swap from an 83 mini and those are the rotors / calipers that are on the 40 today.
On to my questions: I am in need of new calipers & rotors now and I want to upgrade to a better stopping solution if I am going...
Will the rear axle shafts from a 75 FJ55 (no races on shaft version) work in a 73 FJ40 (races on the axle shafts version).
Some say that the bearing size is different on these but I would really like to know the answer to this BEFORE I need them on the trail

ok, has anyone found a good salvage tank that can be used in the small room left under the rear of a 40 after replacing stock rear springs with FJ55 springs -- I have got to get more gas storage.
oh, and I do not want to spend the coin on an under seat aus tank or use a fuel cel in the bed...
