    Dry rot on tires....

My previous set of tires (Maxxis Bighorns) had a considerable amount of ozone cracking throughout the tread. They started to do this within about a year of running them. The tires were manufatured in 07 which made them relatively new. I just ran the tires as usual and had no problems, I would...

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Well, I put on a new water pump this week. New belts. New hoses, clamps, etc. Got it all back together and realize I forgot to put in the t-stat. Ok, no problem i'll just take the housing back apart and install. So I did that, then the gasket tore apart. Great, so i'll just use form-a-gasket on...

3vze Help! Issues after timing belt!!!

The battery was disconnected, but not for more than a day. I have disconnected it before and it has never done that. So apparently my truck does not have a IACV? It is some type of coolant operated valve? Could it be that after pulling the radiator and draining all the coolant that coolant had...

3vze Help! Issues after timing belt!!!

Ok, now that it has warmed up and the high idle has cut off and its fine, there is no fluctuation. So ya'll think its anything that I could have done wrong? Or, just somehow mess up right after I install a timing belt...?

3vze Help! Issues after timing belt!!!

Ok so not long ago my timing belt tensioner went bad. I have never replaced a timing belt on this motor, so I had my concerns. I used a FSM so I was not too concerned. I checked and checked my timing marks to make sure the lined up right and they did. So tonight I went to fill it back up with...

    3.0 Interest

I have an 89 V6, 5 spd and we have owned the thing since new. Never had a burnt valve and still has original head gaskets, the truck has over 300,000 miles on it. The only thing thats ever been done were the valve covers really b/c it was leaking oil so bad... I love my 3.0.

    3.0 Timing Belt Issues

Couple more dumb questions before I start digging in, just to make sure I have it all right... How do you go about removing the nut on the end of the harmonic balancer? What about when I'm re-installing it...181-ft lbs i think. Wont the motor turn over? To release the tensioner do I go for...

    3.0 Timing Belt Issues

No, when I was listening for the noise I sounded if it was coming directly from under the timing cover in the center. Im almost sure its the idler. Can anyone explain to me why a timing belt cant be taken off and put right back on if nothing has moved? Thanks

    3.0 Timing Belt Issues

Ok so, recently on start-up I would hear this high pitched screeching coming from under that timing cover, the water pump and timing belt was replaced recently so I have to assume it either the idler or the tensioner. I have never replaced a timing belt before, so... I thought to myself I could...

Clunking from front end after SAS?

Hell I think I may try duct taping the tie rod ends? Just to see if that cancels it out? Still not sure what do about the shackles, trail gear does not specify a torque for them on the install. I will admit I feel alot better about this knowing i'm not the only person with this problem. I will...

Clunking from front end after SAS?

Yeah I got up under there and greased everything up as far as the shackles go and such. I re-torqued the u-bolts to the specified 90-ft lbs and they moved quite a bit. Didn't make a bit of difference. I also looked at the shock hoops. I just hope it isn't hurting anything, I don't think it is...

Clunking from front end after SAS?

The axle was rebuilt for driveability, and I just re-checked the bearings the other day, but the factory 4.10's were left alone b/c I don't have the money to do them right now. I'm waiting on the front springs to settle a bit more. The kit says to move the front spring hanger 3/4 of an inch...

Clunking from front end after SAS?

Ok, so I had the drivers side locked...:o Oops! But I tried with them locked and unlocked just now and it still makes the same noise. I can feel the clunk though the floor! I can't understand what it could be...
