    Ultragauge vs Scangauge II

I've got a ScanGage I and its 18 yrs old and probably paid over $200 back then. It is a bigger/clunkier unit than the SCII or UG but fits under the rear heater switch on an 80 with heavy duty velcro. It only has the orange backlight color and is bigger than it needs to be IMO...alot of wasted...

1997 Land Cruiser Dealer Installed Securikey+ Alarm Guide

Has anyone removed the security system? I started following the wires and found some squeeze taps on 5 or so wires and a a few spliced wires where the factory wire was cut and spliced into wires from the securikey brain. These one I can figure out how to disconnect and reconnect. But then...

What do you want to be manufactured for your Cruiser?

This might be difficult...but how about a electric seat to manual seat conversion kit. It would involve removing the screw drive and replacing with a notched track set. It's been awhile since I've had my seats out, but a cut-off wheel and grinder might be some of the tools needed so there...

CDL switch 7 pin mod help please

Plug the 7 back in and see if the CDL unlocks the center when in low range...if not maybe the cdl switch is bad?? You might just have to undo back to original and make sure everything works as it should and then do the switch making sure it works, then the 7 mod.

    Deleting 80's factory alarm

Nice directions....There looks to be quite of few splices ad connections to be undone. I'd like to find a way to simply unplug the unit under the seat and under the dash and just leave everything there. I havent messed with it as I don't want to lose keyless entry.

    off sized spare?

I think Jon is right. However I personally wouldnt want to run it that way at highway speeds for long distances. Most car's manuals say to use the same sized tires all around and at least the same size on an axle....probably to cover their butts, but maybe there is heat buildup on the...

Show Me Your Pics of Your Yaesu 2900 Install

I've got a galaxy 979 CB mounted there as well. You want to make sure you place it low enough so you can open the console fully without it hitting a knob or mic wire (that pic looks like someone forgot to check that when drilling those holes for the bracket). Used some pieces of aluminum plate...

Will an 80 start if Rotor is off 180 degrees?

If it won't run 180 degrees off, then I must have had a a dumb moment when I first disassembled and thought the opposite of what I actually saw. The only other possibility is if there is any internal gearing inside the dristributor that threw it off as I know the rotor spun around probably...

Will an 80 start if Rotor is off 180 degrees?

I don't know if it was compression or exhaust. The wires should be in correct order...I did not unplug them from the cap or at the plugs. It is possible that I pulled the distributor/rotor out at 5 o'clock and reassembled at 11 o'clock the first time and hence the no starting. Pulling a 2nd...

Will an 80 start if Rotor is off 180 degrees?

I went ahead and did the distributor o-ring job and all went well until it didnt start after finishing the job. I did notice I couldnt get the rotor to point to the 11 o'clock on reassemble....it wanted to end up at 11:30 but was still pointing to wire #1. After several tries and no starts I...

    Cup Holder Cubby Part #

I replaced my cubby with the cup holder and thought I still might have it, but no luck. I remember it being very narrow where a wallet wouldnt fit. I guess a smart phone would fit there tho.

    Rear mudflap question

Those bolts (more like screws with a bolt head) go into either a metal clip that slides onto a connection point molded as part of the flare, or there is a plastic anchor for one or two IIRC. Wear and tear while wheeling can cause the bolt to pull out of the metal clip and the clip can slide...

    PHH Labor Quote

Seems expensive...try to negociate them down with your knowledge of the job. With a lift they can reach in there better and have I'm sure they have every type of wrench/rachet setup in their toolbox. Difficult part as I'm sure you have read about is the bolt on the bracket on the vertical metal...

    Cruise Control Stalk missing

The location of the stalk IMO lends itself to being broken off. I've noticed things getting caught up on it while getting in and out of the truck. Especially when yhe steering wheel is turned right such that the stalk points downward. Also when holding the steering wheel in a turning position...

    Flareless - body side mouldng?

The flares do keep the front tires from spinning mud, dirt, road water all over the quarter panel, especially when the wheels are turned. After a washing it stinks to get it dirty so quickly with just a drive around neighborhood. But those flares do sucomb to damage quickly if you like to run...

    name this part? 80 series

I ordered some from toyota when I replaced the front flares after damaging them on the trails of NC. The part sticker on the package says: Pad, Fr wheel opening. The part # for the front was 53852-60060-A0. The pads are cheap. The problem I had with putting them on the new flares (which have...

    Cargo mat migrates left?

Mine does the same thing and the edge rolls/shoves into the wheel well. Even with the hooks thru it and with a husky liner on top of it is still does it. I tried taking in out and putting on hot concrete with cinder blocks on it to try to flatten it out. Still does it! It is the weirdest...

Swamp trail ride in Central Florida

River Ranch on of SR 60 is good. You've got to be a property owner or a guest to get in and you have to check in and show proof of ownership. There are days that guests are not allowed. Suburban Estates in East of St. Cloud is good to. I little more swampy during wet season than River...
