I had a local shop purge the fuel system - they changed the fuel lines entirely (they needed it) so I assume they did. How do you get air out of the fuel system?

I've got an '80 BJ42 with a 3B that recently got a bad batch of fuel put into it. I had the fuel system purged and it was running fine for a day or so, then on a short downhill run it began hesitating as if it had run out of fuel. Thinking it was the fuel filter I put a new one...
Turns out the problem with my glow plug relay was fixed by unscrewing the relay cover and cleaning the relay contacts. Could have been some dust or maybe a bug got in there. Anyway, the relay works fine now. I wasn't excited about finding a new one, they seem quite hard to track down.
Thanks for the tips - I'll bust out the multimeter and do some checking. My cruiser used to have a B in it but with the 3B transplant I retained the old glow button. I've never tried doing the backwards glow but I doubt it would work, I only get glow when I press the button. (You're right...
