Thanks for the input guys.
The use for my LC would be pretty much cruising and occasional mud pile here and there.... unfortunately our state is quite boring. SO nothing extreme ;)
I have 4bd (isuzu npr) and a whole 350 to Toy drivetrain. SOmeone mentioned earlier that stock 40 TC is a...
What are good axles to throw on the 40?? Doing a diesel conversion with NV4500 may as well get TC that mates to that. However would need a centered diff int he back. Any thoughts? :hhmm:
Educate me...
Bought a homebuilt trailer... its really nice for my use BUT it bottoms out... I have never delt with spring sizing, or anything spring really... Do I get add a leafs from JC Whit? Are they universal? Or do I measure this thing somehow and go hunting in a junkyard??
Good info, thanks guys
Any other tips on engine placement would be greatly appreciated. Is it still recommended to keep the fan about 3 inches from the radiator? I thought I read that somewhere and that was what I was going with.
This is off topic for this thread, but I was wondering...
Yeah split case wil probably be the way I will go. I just cant swing an orion. But that will be down the road when I get everything straightened out... I'm yet to source the NV
Hmm that definitely would be an odd swap... but if you gonna go for it consider a 7.3 diesel instead! Can't kill that engine (nor easily start it in winter)
Ha ha stupid low you say? I'm afraid my rig will top out at 50 mphs... I come from land called Connecticut where off roading is virtually illegal... but it would be sweet to slow crawl the islands at the mall parking lot! :hillbilly:
Whats the number$ we are looking at for orion? I would assume...
Can I tell em that Lil John sends me? "Yeaaaaaahhhhhhh! Whhhuuuuuut?"
I just worry because being laid off constricts my monies, but gives me crap load of time that I can spend in the garage :wrench:.... catch 22 :hillbilly:
I would love the $plit Ca$e out of 60 but got a 40...
Cuz worrying is the game I play ;)
I'll admit, that cost is one of the issues too... knowing that I spend more money on adapters than I paid for the rest of the drivetrain, or the truck for that matter, makes me feel funny inside... or it could have been the burrito I had this morning
Jokes...
Hmm thats not a good news. Any suggestions as to centered rear end? Its a 76 so I believe the gears are 4.10
Reason for not wanting another adapter: I'm planning to keep this project as simple as possible... well as simple as you can have swapping an Isuzu diesel in it. I will already have an...
Anyone know what TC I can use behind NV4500 (Dodge) that would mate with the offset Toyota axles? I'm preferably looking not to use an adapter in this case. Thanks!
:doh:Should have looked closer before I have asked, there seem to be a bolt going through the center of spring and spring perch... in my defense its all rusted through and hard to see. This setup just begs for SOA:beer:
Howdy,
Cleaning up my axles from all that rust... just thought it would be easier to remove the springs out of the way. Will allignemnt be a PITA when it comes dow to assable the thing again?
