The problem is that after I had the F motor rebuilt the mechanic snapped the end off the crank while replacing the pulley. He put a screw thru the crank to attach it and then closed shop and moved away. The new mechanic accidently snapped off the screw so now we either need to re-attach it...
Just had my 1973 "F" engine rebuilt in my 72 FJ55. Ran great for a month and the harmonic balancer started to wobble. Bought a used balancer and the mechanic said the front of the crank had "snapped off". The text of his invoice reads:

Just finsihed my 73 F motor rebuild, very pleased w/ Coolcruisers piston set w/ rings for $300 and rod bearings for $75. You may need cam bearings, gaskets, oil pump, etc. CC was cheaper than SOR and great to deal with. Don't forget to replace the timing crank and cam gears, great deal from JT...

Just had my F engine rebuilt in my 1972 FJ55. Something neat about keeping it stock w/ the 3 speed. The torque is amazing and as soon as I fix my odometer I plan to drive the first of what I hope are a quarter million miles. Anybody know what the mileage record is for an original F motor ?
Glad to see you keeping it stock. I am (slowly) rebuilding a 72 F for a 55 and wouldn't consider a 2F or 350. Something neat about keeping it original. Mark is definately the man when it comes to those engines.
