Does anyone know the standard height of a 55?
The other day i read a post where someone asked about the standard height of a 55, i searched but couldn't find the post or thread again.
my 55 has the common problem of being sagged in the rear. I was lucky enough to swap both axles and all the...
Aah so that's what they're for, i thought those flaps were to access the body mount bolts or something?
I'll have a look sometime when it isn't dark lol :D
Well I've only got 2 driving lights on the front of mine, they're Light Force 240 XGT's Bloody awesome light output and they'd want to be for $500AUD for 2
But even with 2 my alternator struggles to keep up
I run my cruiser on LPG most of the time cos it runs heaps better and is a lot cheaper. But when i want to drive on petrol, like when i run out of gas it's very touchy, i've tried adjusting the carby but i've had no luck there. any ideas??
On my parts vehicle the engine blows some smoke but it...
Not looking to part it out at this stage, will keep it for my own needs firstly, but i will consider it later on.
Anything to do with the PTO that it needs to operate etc. i will need for myself (sorry) as i don't have a winch at the moment and really want one, later on i will be getting an...
Could be, i posted about it in 45 &55 tech the other day and somewhere in this board about a year ago, but at that stage i was only considering it, so no it's not just you, thanks for the concern ;)
This saturday I'm going to collect my latest addition to a collection of old cars that never get used, this 55 :D
At the moment it belongs to the local gliding club, who had it donated to them, i spotted it when i was there a year ago thinking of joining the club, so i had a chat to a...
Yeah, bit of a bargain really considering i bought my current 55 for $600 and then spent heaps more on it.
On the weekend i was talking to some other fella who wanted $150 for just an axle/diff assembly.
Anyway I'm buying it from a Gliding club, who had it given to them by a club member or...
Well i got myself a parts pig for a measly $150(aussie dolla), supposed to have a good axle, not sure if it's full floating but would be great if it was.
Also has a PTO and plenty of other spares, some i can't use, i.e. barn doors and front doors, but that's about it.
G'day,
Well I've got problems with my rear axle that needs to be fixed asap, firstly the axle shafts have a lot of play at the diff end, basically the teeth have somehow worn down pretty badly. My bearings have slowly worn out and busted the oil seals, oil has then leaked out and worn other...
I have one from the australian company dick smith electronics, worth about $50AUD from memory, spent the time to build the kit with attention to detail and installed really easy, also make sure you waterproof them well, silicone any holes etc. instantly improved my ignition, it went from running...
Be careful of that terminal block too (circuit board), where it is positioned it is possible for the connecting lever of the door latch to short out on it, mine has done this at some stage, so when i took it out it crumbled, i replaced it with a new plastic one.
Yeah it's possible we have something like it maybe a variation of it, but the third door doesn't ring any bells. all the ones i know are either 2 or 4 door normal style
How about knocking up a cargo barrier out of RHS or angle and weld on some mesh, bolt it in somewhere (seatbelt holes on the pillars??)
Mine had a homemade job like what i just described when i first bough it but i took it out and it will be replaced with something of better quality oneday i.e...
Thanks again,
Rhino, don't worry about the pic, i get the picture anyway, we don't have the saturn coupe, never heard of a saturn before, likewise with the sunfire...
Don't know what the winters are like where you are but I sorta want to keep the rear heater in mine, i fixed it up...
Thanks gumby and rhino,
I'll have heaps of room under the seats, i thnik i'll actually need to add more height to the frame once made to get the seats near the right height, different heights for each mount anyway, so i'll have plenty of room to keep my heater.
It sure looks more comfy rhino...
Hi guys,
I'm looking at putting bucket seats in my piggy, as among other things the bench is a killer with my back problem.
I already have the seats, from an '87 mitsubishi magna, quite comfortable and good adjustments and support, donated from my brothers first car which he wrote off.
I did...
