I have a good running 89 FJ62 with a recent 1996 LT1/4L60E from a Buick Roadmaster Hearse in it. The last piece before I turn it over to the wife is completion of the AC system.
The system as it stands now has stock toyo evap and condenser and uses the GM compressor. I have terminated the AC...
Looking for a good condition ( good gears/ bearing and non leaking pinion seal) FRONT third member out of a FJ62 (4.11).
Closer to me is obviously preferred all else equal.
I am in NC 27263.
I have one I pulled from my 89 for an LT1 swap. Daily driver for my wife. I am located in NC at 27263. Email me at gary@packagecrafters.com if you are interested.
Looking for a set of RUST FREE backing plates for the front discs on my 89. Looking to shelve them for a rainy day replacement. I figure there should be plenty around from all the guys that run backing plate eliminators.
I have an LT1/4L60E in my 89 and wanted to keep the stock shifter and not pay $$$ for a lokar so I bought this:
Shift Arm Kits : Kugel Komponents, Quality Komponents Since 1969
Works perfect and it is adjustable to get your ratio just right for the stock indicator and was only $45...........
You are in luck! I have pulled mine for my LT1 swap and have already pulled the transfer case so I can get it for you. Can you remind me via my email at gary@packagecrafters.com and I will send it to you from my Blackberry while I am in the garage all day today.
As I was replacing both rear wheel cylinders I noticed that as I spun each axle it felt "lumpy" . Really no good way to explain it......just not smooth as I would expect. Can actually hear it if you listen closely. No excessive play exists when push/pry on either axle however and no leaks...
why don't you save rebuilding yours for a rainy day and buy mine. I pulled it of my wifes 89 for an LT1 swap that I am almost finished with. It runs perfect.
You can reach me at gary@packagecrafters.com
understand.....has been driving fine for me prior to the teardown. Reasonable tire wear as well. Any obvious way to check or look for a tweaked housing or axle?
Upon cleaning up my knuckles after diassembly I ran across what looks like an aftermarket part in place of the bottom bearing cap on each knuckle. Hard to tell by the pictures but the male part is slightly off-center when cpmpared to the bolt holes. Looks like it can be mounted in one of two...
A post on the regular forum lead me to you guys. I am finishing up an lt1 swap on my 89 that has nasty knuckles i am fixing before she goes on the road....my wifes ride actually.
nevertheless the knuckles are all torn down and cleaned up ready for assembly and I need to see if anyone is willing...
wish it was that easy but the former owner has made a mess of the knuckles with respect to the shims. I want to make sure the axle shaft is centered.......and that requires the tool.
