    torque converter problem

Maciek , From what you write, it seems like normal A442 behaviour. Keep in mind these are heavy trucks, mine weighs roughly 3 tonnes empty. If look at this video of a Hummer H1 (from 1min:18secs.) , you’ll get and idea of how a torque converter slips when taking of . YouTube - 1998...

    How long will she last?

Dscal, We have just returned from a trip down through Europe to Biarritz and back again, clocking up some 3000 miles. Sitting at the autobahn with the cruise locked at 100mph I was going through the same thoughts you are. My truck has done 206K miles, and has been very dependable. I’m gonna...

    Tire rotation and steering issues

thanks for your inputs tires look normal, with marginal more wear on, what was previously, the front tires. They are inflated correctly. I’m slowly leaning towards worn ball-joints, the truck has done 200K miles. Is changing the lower A-arms a pain in the ass? Jesper

    Tire rotation and steering issues

I rotated my tires (stock size Yokohama Geolanders) after 20K miles. FrontLeft to RearRight FrontRight to RearLeft When I drove home I noticed the steering wheel was in a different position than previously. Have you noticed something like this when rotating tires, or did I damage something...

    2006 LC rust

The tailgate rust is fairly normal. My truck got its tailgate replaced by Toyota Denmark when it was 4 years old. The new tailgate started to rust also, but after it was sprayed with cavity wax the rust has stopped. I think the problem is well known, in europe at least. br jesper

    Arctic Truck 80s ramble

I was going thru the Norwegian LC clubs classified ads and found these two. One is from 1991 the other from 1994 both have driven around 300.000km. Apparently they were both converted at Arctic Trucks when they were new. I Can’t help but admire the toughness of the 80 having covered that many...

    2003 LX470 w/120k miles...too many?

I agree with Topmounter, have it inspected. My 100 has done 200K miles and the only real trouble I've had was causes by bad servicing at Toyota.

    Windshield Woes

How annoying. My screen is also cracked but I’m not gonna bother changing it till it gets more cracks. From what I understand most installers do damage when they replace them. Mostly from scratches when they cut out the old piece, and don’t touch up afterwards. Rust around the windshield is not...
