Tail lights aren’t stock. Appears to have an auxiliary rear tank. I don’t know much about v8 conversions but many others can chime in on that. Looks like a good bones
I understand that I can buy a brand new oil pan for $300 bucks with a special gasket and special drain plug and special drain plug gasket. That’s not what I’m asking. What I don’t know is whether a used oil pan from an 84 fj60 with a 2F will fit on a 77 2F without major modifications
Looked again at SOR. They sell an OEM pan that fits 58 to 8/87. That makes it sound like an 84 pan would fit however further down they list a used oil pan that fits 6/76 to 5/82. And another used pan that fits 5/82 to 8/87. ???
From what I’ve found on here it appears I would need to remove a couple baffles at a minimum. Has anyone else used one? I’ve a friend who’s selling one cheap but don’t want to hack it up if it’s just going to ruin it.
The door hinges were miserable to install. I spent an entire afternoon trying to get one started and finally gave up for the day, went in the house and started drinking. You need to be super flexible and comfortable laying upside down with a clutch pedal jammed in the side of your head for hours...
Mounted up my new 4Plus tire carrier and attached my bike rack. Carrier is nicely made and allows for my passenger ambi door to be opened without opening the tire carrier. It’s close. Only about 1/2” of clearance with my 33” tires but it works and I couldn’t be happier.
Sorry for your trouble. It sucks to be broken down without your tools.
Couple questions. If you kept driving for a longer period would the truck die or Is it only a restart problem?
What’s your method of starting your truck after it’s warm?
How long have you owned it?
Does it normall

Do you have an HEI? They are much bigger than stock and can be difficult to adjust because of the cramped quarters. It can’t be that far off if it’s running
The flywheel will make 2 rotations in the time your rotor goes around once. I’m not an expert but I think everything’s just fine. Perhaps it’s not running good because the timing is off far enough that you can’t locate the BB. Try swinging the distributor back the other direction
20A fuse. They blow as soon as I put it in. Its probably been like that since I bought it 10+ years ago. I just never noticed till I bought a dome light
I just installed a dome light and it wouldn’t work. Fuse was blown. Installed a new fuse and pop goes the weasel again. Hmm. Wiring diagram led me to the lighter. If I pull the lighter out and replace the fuse my dome light works great so it must be this baby. It fits nice but it does look to be...
I put the HEI back in to see if perhaps that would work but I couldn't get that to spark either. So I tried taking apart my ignition switch to clean it up (I was suspicious it was corroded and not providing adequate current to the coil) This was a mistake. All I did was succeed in breaking it...
I hooked the white/ black stripe under the bolt holding the igniter/coil down. Tried to induce a spark using my timing light as the signal. No spark. Then I isolated the coil as you suggested and I saw a tiny spark. I couldn’t get it to do it again but it was something. My assistant came home...
Frustrating weekend. To date I’ve installed a Jim C rebuilt distributor ( I sent him my igniter and coil to check as well) added a new battery, plugs, cap, rotor, wires, and even a new coil out of desperation. But no spark.
I’m starting to think the ignition to coil connection might be the...
