After taking it to the shop they said that this part of the drive shaft needs to be replaced and that is what's causing the grinding/spueaking noise. If it's just the ujoint part of this shaft I should be able to just replace or rebuild the joint itself shouldn't I?
I have a squeak coming from my 80 that sounds exactly like something is rubbing as the wheel turns around. Sounds like somethign is on the rotor or the brake pads aren't releasing. The problem is that it isn't the brakes and it only makes the sound while in gear. I was coasting down a side...
I talked to Dan and got pricing from him which is good as always, however time/space constraints prevent me from doing this myself. I thought it odd that they said there were different pumps available so I just wanted to double check.
Thanks for the clarification!
I just stopped by a dealer to get an estimate for a power steering pump for my lx and they said that there are different versions of the ps pump, hydraulic or belt driven. They want me to cross refrence with lexus for the part number. I had thought that they would be the same. Are there...
I have Lenmar and Sunpacks. After using them more I'm happy with them. The gauge is highly inaccurate. I got about 8 continous hours out of the lenmars with full backlight on all the time. The sunpacks were less by a couple of hours, but it was the first charge on those.
Im using 2k mah AAs and they are 1.2 volt batteries. They are marketed as longer life. I looked in my GPS manual and it didn't say anything about minimum required voltage.
I just started using the rechargeable NiMH batteries in my Garmin handheld and I'm not getting the life out of them I thought I would. With the same settings for backlight etc. they seem to drain faster than regular alkalines. They are new batteries and a new charger, should I be expecting...
Google turned up about four results fro the Kennedy Center, so I don't know which one you're referring to. The K street location is near one of the results, looks to be across the street from Farragut square. Call first and check the hours, not all the stores do the late night happy hour...
I didn't post in the TX area, I lived in the Hill Country for a while and at least a little familiar with most of the bigger cities in TX. Currently DC would be the best in terms of a career move and there are also multiple stores in the area so we could both stay with the company. Not the...
GF and I both manage at McCormick and Schmicks here in Chicago. We'd be doing the same in DC. We've decided to see what the company is willing to offer, and assuming the money is there and other details are taken care of we're going to make the move. So we'll see how that all plays out...
GF and I both work in restaurants, if we go she would be working at the one on K street near the White House. Supposedly there is another in town where I could go. We haven't really heard all the details yet. I perfectly fine with heat and humidity, I'm looking for a little more of that after...
Hi all
I'm currently in Chicago and there is an opportunity to move to the DC area for work. The GF and I had been thinking about TX, but this could be better. Something I had been looking forward to about TX is the outdoors activities, weather, and the generally central location to other...
It looks like thats what they used, quick and not too loud. Took them off at the flange behind the first 02 sensor and 6-8 inches ahead of the second. I was pretty happy they left those. Even though the truck seems a lot quieter now and the CEL is finally off, I'm still kind of bitter about it.
Went to the one on Belmont/Elston yesterday and got everything put back together. So far everything seems good and I'm very happy to have it quiet again and not be huffing exhaust fumes. Thanks for the recommendation.
I need to replace my cats since someone was kind enough to remove them over the weekend while I was downtown. I'm going to get a magnaflow instead of the OEM replacement and I found a Merlin shop that would install for about 500 once the parts come in. I can get the cat for a lot less online...
Finally got everything resolved with just paying for the registration and getting the plates. No taxes since I had the truck out of state for years. I'll get a notice to get emission tests sometime int he next few months.
Thanks for the help
