Thanks Rick, that looks easy enough to install. I had heard of correction devices, but haven't researched them. This will have to wait until after my trip as I still have some other things to install before we go. I figure my ratio is about 1.13, so Yellr will work.

Re-gear is complete on the FJCruiser. Drove it to work today and there were no problems. 4.88s may be on the high side since at 65 MPH, it is running 2500 RPM and the speedo is reading 74 MPH. Oh well, great for wheeling but terrible for highway and mileage. Good thing it is not a daily driver.

Sheri and I did this trip in 2002 with a 4Runner. Time for Colin to experience the road trip. Rear axle is all done. Front end is disassembled and clamshell is removed. My skills with rusty bolts has improved as I haven't broke one yet.

Haven't done much with the trucks in several years, but this is the weekend for regearing the FJCruiser. Installing 4.88s and an ARB air locker in the front. We are going to this year's FJCruiser Summit in Ouray, Colorado followed by a week in Moab.

http://jalopnik.com/why-are-the-feds-obsessed-with-seizing-these-peoples-ol-1672381729 Great article about the difficulties the Land Rover community is having with importing trucks. A couple bad apples abusing the process. Hopefully, nothing drastic changes in the law.... I still have certain...

    M1101 trailer

I also recently picked up an 1102 from Fort Drum. I found some 33x12.50-16.5 used tires on Craigslist so that I can change them myself and keep the original wheels. Hoping to get them swapped out this weekend. I will take before and after height measurements.

Wanted: 33x12.5-16.5 I picked up a M1102 trailer from Fort Drum last week and want to lower it just a little. The trailer has the humvee wheels (16.5 x 8.25) and tires (37x12.5-16.5). Looking for any used tires 33x12.5-16.5 or something close to mount on these wheels.

Congratulations Randy. The color really pops on the finished product and of course your signature grill work. Great job!

1.75 cords. Loaded this M105 to just when the helper springs touched.

    Vermont Overland Trophy Challenge

103 and still played the piano... I lost my other grandmother 2 months ago and she was 93. Anyway, crisis averted. Scott found another partner, a Toyota mechanic no less. Good luck Scott and Jason and shame those rovers and heeps.

    Vermont Overland Trophy Challenge

Just received notice that my 103 year old grandma passed away today in FL. After recruiting Scott to do this with me, I am now out. Unfortunately, he still needs a partner in order to participate. Posting here first before hitting the rest of the interwebs. Half Price $250.

Pulled the HJ45 out of storage to get it ready for this event. The only major project remaining is the dual battery install. Everything else on the truck is coming together and working well.

    wilma isn't doing so hot

I put in 2000 for the FJ-40 and 1000 miles for the HJ-45. The interesting thing is that the original estimate was higher. They kept emailing lower price quotes over a two week period trying to get me to bite. I dont remember if the quote was contingent on a vehicle assessment, but I was only...

    wilma isn't doing so hot

I filled out the info online for Haggerty's. 20k for the HJ-45 and 10K for the FJ-40 ended up being around $425/year. I haven't finalized but definitely thinking about it.

FJC is right at 50K miles so will be doing an oil change and lube the driveshafts. Might also have the tech look at the suspension. Sheri is complaining of a clunk when shifting.
