thanks for your interest.
It has been a long time since I have been on the forum due to some changes in job duties, family, and other obligations. Hence, I need to get rid of my FJ40 project. This 1974-ish project started as a father-son project, but since he found a wife and had a...

Geeze, are you trying to make me look bad. I have had my 40 project in the garage for about a year now - and your new project looks more done than mine. I did have a wrench day with my son last week, but we are still working on the axles...
If Rudy's neighbor doesn't come through and you decide to go stock, instead of the lift, let me know. I actually got to do a 1/2 day wrenching today and in the process cleaned out some parts from the shed and I found an original set from a '73. Let me know if you're interested. I live in RR...
Hey Paul, I just found out that I know your dad. I teach for him at CNM, I talked to him today and he mentioned your project. Sounds like it is coming along great. I am going to have to make a trip to the casa and check it out. When you get done, you can help with my project!

Awesome design. I really like it. Depending on the $$ we want to spend, this would even look good in black on a gray shirt. It is simple, graphic and cheap! Thanks for putting in the time for this.

We have had a great time in the past two years. This year, the event is being moved to Labor Day, due to the problems with fire dangers and trail closures last year. The location also moved to Cloudcroft area. We had a good showing of HDC members last year. Hope to see you there.
Jon, not sure how much of a hurry you're in, but I have to work a half-day Friday and would be available in the afternoon. I may also have time this weekend, but unsure of timing right now. Let me know.

Looks nice Jon! I have been encouraged so much by your progress - I am going to spend part of this windy weekend in the garage working on my basket case(s). Maybe some day I will be far enough along to get exhaust work done.
The Black Range between Silver City and Truth or Consequences is a beautiful drive. Go north from there through the Gila Wilderness makes a spectacular trip. Make sure you bring home some Hatch Green Chile (although you're going to be too early for fresh, canned is almost as good).
Evan, I believe that you hit the nail on the head. A stretched 40 body on a shortened 80 chassis. It was certainly more than that as it was a work of art. Beautiful attention to detail and craftsmanship. All of the advantages of an 80 (comfort, suspension, power, AC, Auto) with the open cab and...
Had a great time today - Hopefully we showed Lance some New Mexico hospitality. A few bumps in the trail along the way, but all-in-all a wonderful day! Thanks for the adventure and friendship. Here are a few pictures...
