Well I have a 78 FJ40 I am thinking about parting out, just need to see if there is any interest. It is fairly complete, with a V8 conersion ( Downey 360 Bellhousing) and P/S conversion.
It has been stored indoors for the last 6 years.
The 3/4 tub still needs alot of work, but should be...

Well I got my XP motor and XP Solenoid pack, which was complete with controller and cables and the Pinion gear for a about $450.
I got it from a Warn service dealer on Pirate, right now I don't remember who it was but if I should remember I will post it, he was much cheaper then what you get...
I have a 8274 that I will be going through here shortly, and I have already bought the XP 6hp motor with XP solenoid pack, it should make it one hell of a winch.
The one mod I would like to do is the double motor setup using two 6hp motors from Gigglepin, but I don't think anyone in the...
Hello
I have had my rope for about 4-5 years, been used countless number of times.
So far no problems, it does show a little from useage, but it won't stay new forever.
As far as who to recommend, Winchline.com
They are located in Ferndale.
The 6BT is what they used in the Dodge trucks among other things. Rather a large motor for a cruiser.
The 6AT, is a smaller 6 cylinder diesel, it is 3.4L, turboed , it was meant to replace the chevy 292 in UPS vans, so it size is about the same as the 2F +/- a little.
It is in a whole...
So do you guys still think the H42 will be a problem, since I am using the cummins 6AT and not the B series(Dodge)???
I thought the Toy trans was a pretty tough trans for the most part.
What would you suggest then??
With all the cruisers I have wheeled with, I have never seen the problem with the studs, have heard about it.
Seen lots of birfs.
I am not a balls to the walls type wheeler, I am for the most part pretty gentle on parts.
Well who said my other was a cruiser?
Yeah I know of the studs, I thought about putting on mini knuckles.
Yeah I can put different axles in there, then a new center output tcase, and trans to match tcase, so now that the drivetrain is completely replaced, what is the point of owning a...
Why is that??
I do have other wheeling rigs for extreme type wheeling.
I am wanting to build this on the small side. It will help keep the smaller easier trails a challenge.
But if I don't like it , I can alway change it.
This build isn't that bad, but Yeah let wheel when I get done.
The 4BT is big and heavy, and tall. The Cummins I am looking at is the 6AT, which is about the same size and wieght of a 2F, both diesels I am looking at put out slightly more then a 2F, so I don't think the tranny will be a...
From my understanding, on the older one you need to replace the whole thing.
Pull the front apart, does it have Birf's or the old Ball and Socket style.
If it has birfs it is a later model.
My Planned Buildup
Hello, I have not posted in some time, but still been lurking.
Well hopefully I will get started on my build soon, I have a 78 FJ40.
Here is my plan for this one, I would like to hear some opinions on this build.
Currently it already has, the 350 conversion, but I...
