We've had this Landcruiser for about 20 years. Modified it with 4 wheel discs (Poser mod), H42 4 speed with 3 speed transfer case, rebuilt F.5 engine, DUI distributor, Howell fuel injection, Paki soft top (top needs replacement), 33x9.5x15 BFG's on Toyota steelies, Nason's Dune Beige 416 paint...
Been awhile since I posted. Retired from my last job, started a new one so it’s been a bit busy.
Finally got some time to work on the 40 so I thought I’d tackle a few problems. Got tired of the Weber 32/36 running like crap, tried the Chinese knock off ‘stock’ carb and couldn’t get the jetting...
I finally got around to purchasing tires / wheels for the wife's 2010 FJC. The original tires / wheels were 16" so that's what I asked for at 4WheelParts. They're due to be installed on Thusday but I've read on a couple posts that the 16 x 8 Procomp 7089 wheels rub / don't fit. Anyone have...
Almost ran over this guy this morning. I think he had just munched a ground squirrel so he wasn't much interested in me.
After he exited stage right I finished my ride. I look closer at sticks and branches on the trail now.
My dad bought a used Kampmaster teardrop trailer in 1966 to use as a camp kitchen on 4 acres he had on the Navarro River in Northern California. It was destroyed in a flood in 1968 and he threw the pieces over the bank (they used to do that) and locked the frame to a Pepperwood. Fast forward 44...
I have a '67 FJ40 that the PO replaced the steel fuel lines with rubber fuel hoses from the fuel tank to the Weber carb. I'd like to go back to steel / metal lines but am having trouble finding info.
Here's what I need:
1. What size is the fitting on the stock tank?
2. What kind of flare do...
I'm just starting the process of restoring the stock steering wheel on my '67. It hadn't been a priority and I had toyed with the idea of replacing it with a new wheel, but I couldn't find one with the same diameter (I still have manual steering, and will ALWAYS have unboosted steering:)). I...
I installed a 4" Safari Lift from Man A Fre a couple years ago and have been living with the harsh suspension ever since. I was wondering if there was a way to soften it up a bit. Is it possible to remove a leaf from the pack? Or am I stuck with the ride until I replace the whole set of leaf...
Was looking for trailers on CL and came across this in Salem, OR:
Seemed like a good deal, not affiliated in any way. $250. Just thought a MUD member may be looking for one.
I put ad in Classified section.
Struggling with my 4 speed tranny install. Are the 3 speed bellhousing to trans bolts the same size / thread pitch as the bolts that hold the 4 speed tranny to bellhousing? Thanks.
Pat
Found this guy when I was out mountain biking last week. I had moved a 3" limb off the trail and he was resting underneath. I actually thought he was a piece of wood and nudged him out of the way with my foot. He spread out his wings (threat display?) but never tried to fly away.
Location was...
I was having a flat fixed on the wife's 2010 FJ Cruiser the other and just out of curiosity I threw on one of my FJ40 rims to see if they'd fit. This was just the rear but it spun without rubbing (and these were the early riveted wheels). My question is: will the newer welded steel rims work on...
This was parked at the bottom of my hill yesterday off hwy 58 near Tehachapi. Anyone know the story on it? It was gone when I got off work.
Someone was doing a nice job on the mods. Hope the rest of your trip went well.
How about some action pictures of what you do with your military trailer. Ours is used for everything from camping and hauling firewood, to hauling the trash and as a BIG wheelbarrow. I think it is probably one of the better purchases I've made and always a conversation starter.
I'm posting this for a friend of a friend. Please contact him with any questions regarding the vehicle:

Poser clued me in on this and I thought I'd pass it on. For folks with the single circuit, unboosted Master Cylinder that want to upgrade to a dual circuit (I'm starting a 4 wheel disc conversion) without the added expense of sourcing a booster:
Man A Fre sells a Wilwood master with an...
I know this has been handled a million times but this thread is more for you brake gurus to keep me straight, rather than me educating anyone. I really hadn't planned on doing this just yet but what I thought was a leaking rear axle seal actually turned into leaking brake cyllinders.
I know...
Got it last Wednesday. 2010 Army Green with All Terrain Package; which really means no bells and whistles. I got tired of waiting for the wife to go in and test drive one so I just bought it. Unfortunately, she loves it. She even loves the color dangnamit.
