Injection service near me said absolutely do not use atf. ATF now days has friction modifiers. His advice is to use same oil you use in engine in fuel. Makes sence.
If your going to do the kero thing throw a qt. or 2 of atf in it if your going to drive it. Not a lot of lube to kero. Friend of mine used straight ATF cleaned up really good had water in it too.
I had an chevy pu with a throttle body 4.3 and it got at least 19mpg mostly hwy avg. Later owned a Vortec 4.3 and milage was significantly less. TB never gave me a minutes trouble and drove it 160000. Vortec cost me $1500 before warrenty was out!
Rust
Liquid wrench with Teflon is really good too. Always carry a can in truck. Use antiseiz when putting things back together to avoid problems in future.
