I make my leaf spring shackles from 2" wide x 3/8" thick steel bar stock. I usually make the pin spacing 5" (stock is 2.75"). Overall shackle length is usually 3" longer than the pin spacing. So a 5" pin spacing will end up an 8" total shackle length. I drill the shackles for 9/16" spring...
Garrett,
I have an engine and harness from an 89 FJ62 3FE that I am going through now. I can take some pics and post them. I am still working on identifying each connector.
What year is your 60 and what were your smog numbers on all of the tests?
We need to know where you are failing and to help offer you suggestions on what to look for to solve your real problem.
According to my 89 FSM, the drive plate torque is 64 ft-lb

And there are a few companies who make DOT harnesses.
Ed,
The problem I see with that shackle setup is when the spring flattens out, you will probably hit the center brace on the bottom of the frame. My shackle setup is offset some since my D60 front has a 27.5" spring spacing. I had to make a spacer for the leaf spring end. I will see if I...
What type of hose did Downey use for the hot air riser to intake on their 2F header? Mine as totally destroyed itself and I am looking for a replacement.
It looks like some kind of fiber hose with a metal spiral and some rope spiral on it.
Any recommendations for a replacement?
