Well with what you said over on yotatech I would be supprised if anyone was willing to help out at this point.
Have you thought about a google search on wiring diagrams? The you could grab a copy of the haynes manual and compare the two.
Also your yota has an internal regulator and...
The only I clanking noises I have ever had were from busted ring gears. Not saying thats your problem though.
But like the other guys said, check pinion/flange nut thing.
Metal box is a bad idea. To start with the box wont vibrate like it should to creat decent sounds, and I would be willing to bet that all the metal surrounding the speaker would interfear with the magnet on the back of the speaker. Not saying it wouldn't work, just would work at its full...
WHy not just use the 4.88's and regear the front? If you are running big tires or planning on running big tires you will like the 4.88's better anyways.
Also I have heard that some of the 3rds that came from the factory with 4.88 gears may not except any other gears because of the carrier...
Need 4.88s and I definatly want to do the locker, but I also want new. I dont see the point in puting in used gears and bearings when I will have a completely rebuilt front axle. Thats why I was thinking about going with the pre-built from marlin.
I was figuring after spending 150-200 for...
Maybe I should have been a little more clear. I do have the v6 third in the rear already. My concern is the fron axle that I am installing on the front. Its out of a 85 yota and it has a 4 cyl third in it.
Was just wondering what kind of luck everyone has had with running the 4cyl third member/carrier in there sas trucks/runners with the 3.slow. The reason I am asking is I am ready to order gears and lockers and noticed marlin crawler has the pre-built thirds for a decent price but my delema is I...
I will take lots of pics for you. I am still a couple of weeks out though. Just getting prepared and finding out any last details or thing I might run into.
Sweet! Thanks again guys for your input. I do plan on having the axle built and ready to go with the gears and locker and most of the gussets installed that way all I have to worry about is the suspension and bolting up the steering.
Sucks that you found that after you rebuilt the starter, had you known before you might have save alot of effort on your part. Atleast now you know she wont becoming to you for starter problems anytime soon.
